Not as good as I remember but not abysmal
Popfanof201615 August 2023
I used to have a huge mixels hyperfixation in 2015-2016, I had almost all the toys and watched the cartoon everyday. I recently decided to rewatch it for nostalgia purposes and didn't really enjoy it as much as I used to, although that is understandable as I am obviously much older then when I was when I first watched it.

I didn't really laugh at the jokes as much, found some of the characters to be quite irritating and it felt kind of repetitive. Although I do think the newer, longer episodes were better and I feel like it could've become a genuinely good show if it wasn't cancelled so quick.

In short, I don't think it's at all a terrible show as I used to enjoy it so much, I'd say it's a pretty good if you have the right mindset for it. The toys are still good though.

Has CN gone this far!?
BlossomTheLeader22 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
The reason I'v only rate this a 2 instead of 1 because I haven't seem most of their episodes yet, I didn't want to judge a book by it's cover so I decided to watch "Mixed up Special" When I saw the ugly robot designs I go "What the heck!?" Mixels!? Seriously? They called themselves Mixels when they are ACTUALLY robots/cyborgs. It seems LEGO and it's team officially died and made it into a show, The neon colored robots could'v been just a toy line like My Little Pony, I knew this was going to be bad as Nick's Henry Danger. However I got the feeling when a gray vertical rectangle shaped robot threw a black and white bomb (I thought that thing would explode) into the robots and turned the whole town black and white, I can't be 100% SURE if they ripped that idea off from their 90's shows "Powerpuff Girls" It's like in Powerpuff Girls, A Mime clown turned Townsville into a lack of color, Including the Girls. Hey at least they didn't steal the part when the girls sang a song to get it back to color at least It's good news for that, DID I just mention that I'm surprised it hasn't got a profile yet on TV.com!? It should'v have a profile by now.

The characters are talking too fast and the plot line just goes too fast, They barely even have a personality expect the gray one with a crown has a few character in it. They didn't even bother to give them a name to them!??!? I couldn't watch the whole episode just till you know, So If it gets worse or the rating gets higher. Then I will lower it down back to 1. I am hoping that another person will review this eventually as possible. The pop-culture references nearly hurt my eyes, Is this one of CN's newest bad show? Could be possible. Only time will tell. A least Steven Universe is decent and better than Mixels, Another awful show called My little pony: Friendship is Magic has these pop-culture references. Saying "It's targeted for younger audiences!!111" is NO excuse for a bad kid show, If you are lucky, Watch Boomerang. If you like this show, don't hate me for THIS review. Thank you.

I never watched this in anything this is soooooo yuck and worse they should have instead made a animated show about chima 3rd season would be better than this I love Lego ninjago 😂😂😂 Lol I don't mean to be "mean" but I would rather watch Unikitty instead my whole life they should have made a actual set franchise Called 'Mixels" I love Nexo Knights I would be fine if this franchise had a atleast one set like stranger things! They should have made atleast 7 - 5 different mechs because 99/ Percent People know that Power rangers had the best mechs of all time I would beg the producerd to more Unikitty.

Fail

Episodes literally last one or two minutes. Animation/drawing isn't bad at all. In fact it's better than in like 80% of cartoon network shows. As far as the funny parts go, they aren't really funny and are pretty stupid instead.

This Show Is WAY Too Underrated!
bombasticbrody19 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This show is extremely cartoony, and has very interesting, simplistic, nice looking character designs. The shows plot is very simple, but fun at the same time. One thing I've noticed about this cartoon is that is indeed extremely underrated, and very criticized by lots of people, and honestly, doesn't deserve the negative attention it gets (instead I'd rather you criticize a certain other CN show featuring annoying superheroes who do stupid, pointless, annoying, unfunny stuff all the time with bad flash animation). The shows animation style is fine, and while it isn't anything spectacular, it is watchable to the human eye. The show also contains very talented voice actors, such as Tom Kenny who voices Flain and Tesslo (Tom Kenny also voices one of the greatest cartoon characters of all time, SpongeBob SquarePants). The voice acting isn't bad, but it isn't great. Like the animation, the voice acting is fine the way it is. The plot is very simple when it comes to most of the specials that aired on CN, though the plots are well, decent to say the least. The characters are very charming, especially the Mixels (the protagonists), however the Nixels (the antagonists) can be slightly annoying, considering the only word they every say is the word "Nix". This show used to be shorts, but ended up having a few 20 minute specials on CN. As of the time I wrote this review, the show still airs it's shorts on Boomerang, during commercial breaks before an episode from any series airs on the network. The ending was sadly rushed however. While the ending isn't bad by any means, it's very disappointing. A Mixel by the name of "Booger" ends up saving the world and ends up defeating the Nixel King by doing some kind of dance boogie. All and all, this show is good for what it is, even if the ending was slightly rushed and very disappointing. I give this show a solid 8.3/10, and I do recommend watching this series.

Save Mixels
talonflamestar26 August 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Mixels Wiki recently made a video saying that the show is ending and we need the fans to help contribute to this. That is what this deserves. From Coconapple to Every Knight Has Its Day this show has been terrific. I honestly have to say it was the best idea that Lego and Cartoon Network had. They "Mixed" to create this awesome dream come true. The mix designs are pretty cool and the show is very entertaining. I really can't wait for Nixel Nixel Go Away for it is the last episode. This show needs more love for it is underrated. We need to stand up for this show and save the show from dying out. The Mixels are pretty fun to build and the infinite combinations make them creative. My favorite Mixel is Snoof because he was the protagonist of A Quest for The Lost Mixamajig which had a good amount of action in it and had some of my favorite Mixels in it like Krog and Dribbal. All Mixels fans stand up for this. We need to get this show up and running again.

not bad not great just in the middle
WeAreLive17 November 2018
Well I can't say I have watched every episode of it but I have seen a few back in the day when Cartoon Network UK had variety and when I used to get up early to watch the original series of Ben 10 before I went to school.

It was interesting while it lasted, it did have some good animation and creative concepts which would have made good toys for selling. But the way it was executed was very poor.

The voice acting was good regardless and it actually had potientals then just 2-4 minute episodes. Well some episodes were dumb but okay.

Great show that slowly declined
mooeymouse29 June 2022
Let me start off with that the show was never truly bad. The sets were great and offered a good supply of joints, and though the episodes were short these were characters you could actually relate to. What else does Nickelodeon have? Anthropomorphic sponge and? Rapping chipmunks? This was a nice change of pace in my opinion. Though the sets did decline in quality the show did give the characters justice. The show really shined in its longer episodes, especially the first 3. The older animation is great, and Lego should bring this back. They only need 3 basic ideas to make great characters, and I'm sure many other people are dying to see this series return. I myself would donate a kidney to fund it.

Started off not so strong but decent, then abondened
talhae-565161 January 2023
This show had beautiful animation, great character designs and unique concept. The best LEGO cartoon and best LEGO theme ever! All Mixels have unique abilities and personalities given to them and they show how people with different skills can do everything into possible when they help and mix each other. It teaches the importance of working together in harmony. It doesn't make you laugh like crazy but it's still funny enough enjoy. The only thing bad about the show is it's too short. Episodes about first two series of Mixels last a few minutes and other series of Mixels only have specials per series. I wish we had more opportunity to explore the world of Mixels. Specials last a lot longer but they just aren't enough. At first the animation was a lot better and handled better in terms of introducing characters but later, animation quality dropped and the main Mixels of the series got dropped as the citizens of Mixopolis were put in the spotlight. By the time tribes got repetitive and promotional material wasn't enough. It was doomed to end as the interest of both Cartoon Network and LEGO were decreased. It was great while it lasted. One of the best shows produced by Cartoon Network in the last decade. It is just too beautiful and well crafted.

Most Underrated Show Ever
drcherrybomb11 September 2023
Title speaks for itself. Cartoon Network at the time was just about to go downhill but it luckily managed to save its own skin via a show like Mixels...

Sure, the gap between episodes was massively inconsistent. Sure, characters like Balk, Tentro, Chilbo, never really obtained much from the show. And finally, sure, I would agree the ending was the most wasted potential ever, but this show was delivered with the best concept you could ever think of.

Mixels, as a show, was pretty much more about potential than execution. It was at its heaviest at series 1 (and to a lesser extent, series 2), then it started to diminish right after, until NNGA where it went super downhill. And that's pretty sad because us fans expected more from such a large cast of characters throughout the series and seasons.

But that's okay, as you, fans and watchers, get to shape up your creativity and ideas. This show was about creativity anyway, I guess.

A well made show that ended too early
auskooper9 October 2023
Mixels is easily one of the best Lego franchises. It has an interesting topic. It involves combining the characters together. The characters aren't just the basic Lego Minifigures (the basic head, torso, legs, items, and headpiece). Really helps with creativity. The characters in the show aren't computer renditions of the Legos. The show has it's own cartoonish renditions of the characters. For me, the best part of the show was when it was 1 to 2 minute shorts. It started to loose it's spark after making it long. The last two episodes barely had the characters that actually had the sets. The episodes were meant to be about those characters but they had just a minor role. I remember getting into Mixels when I was young. It sure brings back some nostalgia. Even when I rewatch the shorts now, I still like them. I felt sad when I heard that the franchise ended.
