- Full Custom Garage is an exciting new TV series coming soon to MAVTV that features car builder Ian Roussel at work, creating one-of-a kind vehicles. With different builds in each episode, Ian's unique fabrication will be put to the test. It's gonna be a wild ride and he ain't stopping till it's Full Custom.—Brooks Ferrell
- Ian Roussel who's reality TV show Full Custom Garage that started in 2014 is one of difference and unique imaginative innovation. Specializing in far out custom cars and traditional customs is worth watching. Each episode he takes a old car/truck/motorcycle and makes a cool custom. He makes it look effortless and like anyone can do it with his quiet style and no nonsense approach to his many episode projects.
The show is different from more traditional car restoration shows like Chip Fooses' Overhaulin or Dave Kindigs' Kindig It Design. These shows have pristine large shop, facilities full of great tools, a paint booth and huge teams of talented restoration personnel. Full Custom Garage is much more grass roots with the show's synopsis being about one guy, one car, one simple garage with classical techniques creating unique customs.
Ians' IMDB popularity rating currently is a whopping 8.7 out of 10. Viewers like this guy and they like this show. What stands out most is his incredible fabrication work which is all in his head and then its translated to each project with custom fabrication and impressive metal work. Chopping, sawing, removing and adding metal on his one of a kind productions. Most other reality car shows of this type start with a fabulous artful color rendition and illustration of the project and then that image is transformed by their huge team at a phenomenal to reflect that design from paper to reality. With Ian and each episode, he simply takes the raw materials, scrap and old car parts from friends and without a tangible blueprint creates the cool custom car. Amazing to watch the thought process and each episode he does a quiet style narrative of the process.
This reality show is a journey into the subculture of modern hot rods. A throwback to a time when cars were hand crafted and built to drive and enjoy. No trailer queens here with look way into the past of what custom car building was like in the 40's 50's and 60's. Each episode is an example of what a talented fabricator can create with an idea and a low budget.
Ian Roussel resides in Southern California, where his passion with cars began when he was young. He embodies that local world recognized custom car culture. After years and years of experience, he has built his own custom car building garage which then led to his own TV series named Full Custom Garage.
Ian is happily married with his sexy wife also an avid fan of custom cars and builds. As a couple who share similar interest and personality, their relationship is bound to be strong and long-lasting. He is a very private person and other than his custom car prowess most other factors about his personal life past and present are somewhat of a mystery. However, the fans don't care as long as they can see each episode with a great California culture creation with a lot of talent and little fanfare. Watching "Full Custom Garage" is a simple and fun to watch with a regular guy with nominal resources getting a lot of attention is his unique and creations you can actually drive. Far from the Kindig and Foose show models of the past and present. - Martin Snytsheuvel
