When Erin is assigned to investigate a case in which an on-duty police officer is accused of killing a suspect already in custody, Frank urges her to stick to the facts to avoid a publicity scandal for the NYPD. Meanwhile, Jamie urges Eddie to forgive her father for his past mistakes.—Anonymous

When a man who was arrested dies while in custody, the cop who was with him is under scrutiny. Frank is caught off guard when he learns that Erin is assigned to investigate. Frank hopes Erin will be fair but she believes that even cops are not above the law. When the coroner rules the man's death as a homicide, she questions the cop who says the man attacked him, and his partner backs him up.
