The background of the story revolves around the life and freedom struggle of the residents living inside the Chitmahal village of Dahagram. In the context of the story, the subjugated village that is being shown is non-existent in the accounts of both the Indian and Bangladesh governments, they are neither alive nor dead. The story follows the two characters Rabeya and Pancha who are born and brought up in this subjugated enclave. Through their eyes and perspectives the life and the struggles of the residents of Dahagram are explored, their existence and struggle of freedom is shown.
