The boys go to Burma
Tweekums16 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
As the twenty first series of Top Gear draws to a close the boys head to Burma for one of their specials. This time they must each by a cheap second hand lorry then drive from Rangoon to the River Kwai… where they must inevitably build a bridge. Of course the journey won't be easy; they must contend with the Rangoon traffic before heading off up the wrong road! As one would expect the 'short cut' back to the correct route isn't easy driving but it does show us some amazing scenery… I'm sure this 'mistake' was quite deliberate.

There are the usual laughs to be had as the trio try to improve their vehicles and are terrorised by the local traffic; which doesn't seem to believe in head lights even when it is pitch black. As in previous specials they took great pleasure in winding each other up and sabotaging each other's vehicles.

As this follows the well tested formula of previous special I suspect people who enjoyed those will certainly enjoy this. The horsing around was a bit childish at times and occasionally tiresome but it didn't spoil a great special. The scenes in the spectacular, and previously closed Shan Province were particularly good… Clarkson said everybody should go there and I'm sure if it opened up plenty of tourists would. Given the state of their vehicles and the way they treated them it seemed surprising that they all made it to the finishing point in Thailand.
