The director, Eric Loubert, was inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe for the versatility of his stories and poems, as well as movies such as Creepshow and Heavy Metal for their anthology style of storytelling.
The film was partially funded by an unsuccessful Indiegogo campaign in which only eight people donated.
This was Eric Loubert's first film after graduating from The Motion Picture Institute of Michigan in 2013.
The film is a semi-sequel to Loubert's thesis film, Hopeless. It features two cast members from Hopeless and discusses many of the same subjects such as religion and death.
The film was marred by technical difficulties during post production, forcing the director to reshoot multiple scenes.
