Expressionist visceral look on three stories in a tiny provincial town in Northeastern Brazilian hinterland: 1) a blind musician falls in love for a woman with a great grief; 2) a boy comes back from São Paulo to stay for a while in his grandma's house; 3) a girl dreams about knowing the sea, and admires above everyone her uncle who has been there and is completely different from local citizens, while her drunk father has an uneasy relation with him. Much more than on those stories or the script, the strength of the movie (many scenes do impact!) lies in the extraordinary cinematography and camera, the great usage of music together with images, and awesome direction and acting.
