At 10:46 there is a reference to Project Harvey, a real DARPA project to explore Stealth technology in fighter aircraft.
"In 1974, the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) initiated a program known as Project Harvey (named after the 6 feet 3 1/2 inches tall invisible white rabbit from the play of the same name). The ultimate goal was to develop a combat aircraft with as low a radar signature as possible."
Ironically, Lockheed Skunkworks, who were not among the 10 initial contractors contracted to explore the possibility of Stealth, were the first to come up with a solution, which ultimately led to the F117 Stealth Fighter.
Even more ironically, the technology that led Lockheed to their discovery was an obscure Russian mathematical paper from 1962.
Oliver North was a writer for this episode that includes an Iran-Contra subplot. North was involved due to his experience and knowledge about American government's covert support of Contras in Nicaragua. For he was the former Marine Corps lieutenant colonel and National Security Council aide, and a central figure in the Iran-contra scandal since he was a National Security Council staff member during the Iran-Contra affair.
Northrop Corporation was an American aircraft manufacturer from its formation in 1939 until its 1994 merger with Grumman to form Northrop Grumman. The company is known for its development of the flying wing design, most successfully the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber.
The Contras were the various U.S.-backed and funded right-wing rebel groups that were active from 1979 to the early 1990s in opposition to the Marxist Sandinista Junta of National Reconstruction Government in Nicaragua which came to power in 1979 following the Nicaraguan Revolution. Among the separate contra groups, the Nicaraguan Democratic Force (FDN) emerged as the largest by far. In 1987, virtually all contra organizations were united, at least nominally, into the Nicaraguan Resistance. From an early stage, the rebels received financial and military support from the United States government, and their military significance decisively depended on it. After US support was banned by Congress, the Reagan administration covertly continued it. These illegal activities culminated in the Iran-Contra affair. The term "contra" is short for la contrarrevolucion, in English "the counter-revolution".
Lockheed Have Blue was the code name for Lockheed's proof of concept demonstrator for a stealth bomber.
