Synopsis

  • The episode opens to April and Holly chatting in the faculty lounge. Sue sits down and we learn how fond she is of Holly. Sue gives them one week to find a way for music to fit into an existing extracurricular activity.

After being rejected by her backup school, Tina is worried she still hasn't been accepted to a college. She's still waiting to hear from Brown, and, as a last resort, has dropped the Chang from her last name to apply for the only school still accepting for the fall, Mitzvah University.

Blaine has been accepted by NYADA. During the celebration, Sam accidentally knocks Tina out with one of the trophies. She daydreams she's in New York, hanging with the rest of the kids in C.H.U.M.S. (a parody of Friends). Tina wakes up and tells them "New York will be amazing."

The Glee kids are all in the auditorium for the final moments of the club. Mercedes and Kurt take the stage and talk about how far their relationship has come. They sing "I Am Changing".

Rachel wants to give Santana ten shows after the first three months of the run. Santana turns her down, saying she wants the whole thing.

Holly's first plan involves speaking to the Animal Husbandry club and pretending to be Temple Grandin. She sings Eddie Murphy's "Party All the Time".

Brittany surprises Santana with flowers. They discuss whether or not they should be together and Santana is wary. Brittany asks her what they should do.

Tina has been rejected by Mitzvah (in addition to being called a "big fat liar" by the dean of admissions). Sam suggests she go to New York without college admittance. This leads to Blaine, Sam, Artie and Tine performing a cast song related to being considered a loser. It convinces Tina she should go to New York.

Rachel doesn't know why Santana is coming after her. Santana says it was because she's not a nice person, then tells her she has resigned from the show. Santana says she did it for herself. The two sing a cast song about everything turning out okay.

Sue tells Holly and Will their Temple Grandin ploy did not work. The extracurricular plan didn't work and Will tells Holly he's accepted that it's over.

Holly tells Artie to meet her in the Spanish room with his camera.

Quinn and Puck sing "Just Give Me a Reason". Afterwards she tells Puck she wants to give a relationship with him a chance. Afterwards Will tells them that that was the last song that will be sung. Glee club is officially over.

Will finds a video waiting for him in the auditorium: the New Directions and the alumni providing information for Will's son when he's older, telling the child what his father was like as a teacher and mentor. They heap praise on Will and remind him how much they love him. The kids then walk on stage and sing "Don't Stop Believin'" Will joins them and everybody embraces. April and Holly watch from the wings and congratulate themselves on a job well done.

The New Directions kids finish cleaning out the choir room. Tina runs in and tells them they're going to miss her "big moment." Marley, Jake and Ryder don't think that Sue "won."

Tina gets her diploma. She tell her friends she's gotten into Brown. Santana surprises Brittany by having arranged for her to get a diploma.

In the bathroom, Santana tells Brittany she wants her to come to New York with her after they go on an LGBT cruise. Brittany agrees.

In the choir room, Sue offers Will a drink. She tells him he changed a lot of kids' lives for the better. Sue says she's going to "miss the fight." She's gotten him an interview at Carmel High, home of Vocal Adrenaline. She wants him to see what he can do with a real budget. Will bows to the empty room and walks out.
