This broad comedy is replete with belly-laugh-inducing dialogue. Over the holiday meal, a stereotypical New York Italian matriarch (Marie) deals with her overbearing disapproving mother (Nonna), cross-dressing husband (Frank), dimwitted older son (Michael), trampy daughter-in-law (Gina), ditzy relatives and other assorted challenges as her youngest son introduces his new love (Sophia) to the famiglia.
