PC Perkins sees Coulson molesting Gina and, despite being threatened by the chief, reports him to Briggs, who forces Coulson to take early retirement. Meanwhile Fenton, distraught at Rosie's death, seeks out Powell - who is planning to leave England on a fake passport. However Powell tells him that it was Chris - his illegitimate son - who killed Rosie and the councillor without his knowledge. Rejected by Powell Chris tips Max off to his father's whereabouts before trailing Gina to the safe house where Rebecca is hiding. Max and his officers follow and there is a shoot-out.—don @ minifie-1

PC Perkins finally works up the gumption to back up Gina's allegation that ACC Coulson assaulted her in the car park. Chief Inspector Briggs steps in and tells the ACC what he needs to do. Gangster Lenny Powell meanwhile is on the loose and Fenton, at home under suspension, sets out to find him. With the help of his grass Linus Brody, he learns the location of a local forger who leads them to Fenton. When Fenton confronts him, Powell admits that his illegitimate son Chris Hutton, is responsible for the murders. Chris follows Gina to a remote farmhouse intent on eliminating the main witness against him, Rebecca Jones.—garykmcd
