The governor of Suzhou, while in bed, is shown with a close-cropped haircut that would've been blasphemous for a man of his station to have in feudal China. Hair was considered a gift from one's sovereign parents and would never be removed without renouncing family ties.
Marco's father shows him a Cross with the scripture Psalms 72:11. He properly recites the psalm but the chapter and verses were not introduced until 1551 A.D. Marco Polo died in 1324, more than 200 years earlier.
