Hilarious!

I grew up with horror hosts as a teen, and this show brings back some great memories! I watched online on Vimeo and wasn't sure what I'd be getting. I was VERY surprised. The hosts are hysterical, and Lulu is absolutely gorgeous! Can't wait to see all the volumes (only seen 1 so far), but it's fantastic. You MUST see The Nest! You won't believe the CGI. Amazing for a short film. Franky and the Ant I'd seen before at a film fest, but is is well worth watching again. Doppelgänger and Amused are both very entertaining. Really just a fun, nostalgic show that's well done. If you love indie horror then you have to give this show a look. Every horror fan needs to check out this series.

Lulu is NOT!

Just complete low budget garbage. Terribly written and produced. P.S. The writers and producers are reviewing their own film(s). Just a quick comparisons of the reviewers reveals the same grouping of films with rave reviews. The bad reviews on those pages are attacks on big budget films, claiming they ripped off the low budget, no-one ever saw films THEY PRODUCED!

Bringing back fun to the horror host genre

I have to say firstly, I wasn't sure what to expect from this show. The DVD box looks like a mad version of a Scooby Doo poster. The DVD box itself is quite the treat if you're into wacky DVD art. Anyway, I watched the DVD of Volume 1 and I was honestly blown away. The hosts are are throwback to Joe Bob Briggs, but much better and the wrap around with the hosts actually has a story-line, which I found refreshing. Love the films, which are all award winning horror shorts. Amazing the quality of films. A few even look like they were made by studios. I highly recommend this title and so far I've seen 4 of the episodes and they each get better and better. I'm looking forward to seeing what else this crew puts out.

Lulu is Hot!!!

Warning: Spoilers
Love this series. Just watched a sneak Peek of Volume 4, not only were the shorts featured very cool, the show's wrap around skits were funny as hell. Bo is a riot and he's the only person that can understand Cephus, who mumbles. The Kim Jong Un skit was so funny, just hope it doesn't upset the North Korean people seeing their leader in a mullet. I love me some Lulu for sure. She cooks up some mean CheeWawa. I love the return of genuine good horror hosts like back in the day. I noticed Volume 1 is now out on DVD, so I'm def going to order my copy. I highly suggest this series to anyone who loves indie horror, redneck humor and hot chicks in skimpy clothes. Perfect recipe for success

A Total Horror Hoot!!!

I really enjoyed this film. I totally loved the shorts! I had lots of laughs with the hosts. A very cool throw back to the late night horror shows. I was very impressed with the quality of horror shorts presented. The hosts move it right along and are completely entertaining. I really admire these filmmakers. Not only did they create a very good standalone indie film, they also support horror films that might other wise not have wide circulation. Kudos - for finding a lovely way to pursue your film-making and pushing the work of others out into the world as well. I will certainly be tuning into Volumes 1 - 3!! Nothing like alcohol and horror!!!

A lot of fun!!!!

The hosts were hilarious and really set the stage. This reminded me of horror hosts of old maybe like some of the early Roger Corman stuff, when Vincent Price narrated in a spooky and campy fashion. These are not just pasted together ultra low budget pieces but really well done material that looks award winning. The Nest is my favourite, but Doppelgänger and Amused took off in a surprising fashion as well. Hard to find this level of filmmaking quality in Indie horror, the special effects rock/CGI rocks too I continue to be amazed at the special effects being generated by Indie films, I find them more interesting actually then the mega effects that seems to hammer you mercilessly, I prefer not to say simpler effects but more originals less industrial effects, an intimacy to them that gives the horror a scarier a feel,a more intimate feel. I highly recommend!

All the goods

I had the pleasure of viewing Hillbilly Horror Show recently.

It is a collection of short films connected by a host. A novel idea. I am a filmmaker myself who creates in short film. The idea of making a compilation while connecting different stories via a host is great!

Each short film stands on its own as well made. Together, they form a great viewing experience.

I would recommend anyone looking for a well made horror anthology to definitely check this one out. The writing is superb. The directing is inspired. The acting is top notch. The entertainment is endless. This is a film for any movie fan.

Fun format, great short films

Comedy and horror...beer-drinking and blood-baths...what more could you ask for? This set of short films is punctuated by host segments featuring a couple of good old boys and their smoking hot assistant Lulu. The format reminds me of the old MonsterVision on TNT or Mystery Science Theater 3000 (except with better films!). If you enjoy flipping through the channels late at night to discover new film you've never seen before, you will enjoy this. We're coming up on Halloween, and this is a perfect fit for a laid-back evening of quality short films. Watched on Amazon, and it looks like part of a series, so if the filmmakers release any more of these, I will definitely continue watching.

Have some fun!

An anthology of horror shorts is a great idea! As a filmmaker myself I have long considered the idea of connecting various short films in some type of collection. I'd think on it for a while then just let the idea fade away. The idea of having hosts really brings it together.

If you're new to the short film viewing game give it a shot. You'll get to dive into one world for a while then before you know it it's reached its resolution and you're off to the next story. Good times!

This is the first volume I'd heard of, but I'd definitely be interested in checking out the others as well. Go make some popcorn and treat yourself to some horror shenanigans.

I can't wait to watch future installments! Dive in and have some fun. :)
