Louis De Rochemont's first production is a view of Coney Island at the height of summer: first from an airplane buzzing the beach, then a look at some of the rides and attractions. Coney Island had been a popular subject for short films for thirty years at this point, and we can see the evolution of attractions, with the roller coaster, the water slide, and the now vanished 'Lindy Loop.'
De Rochemont would go on to produce the 'March of Time' series of newsreels for Time Magazine, and several serious dramas that centered on social problems of the period. He would die in 1978, aged 79.
