I must admit I was close to giving up on this series but after this episode I'm gonna give it another chance. The acting which has been all over the place in previous episodes is good all around in this one and it's a tense, edge-of-your-seat episode that shows new sides to some well-known characters and also introduces an interesting new one. I do feel, though, that they need to start introducing some more characters among the 100. Surely they cant' all be happy about Bellamy's management style. But this one is definitely the the best episode so far. Let's hope the show really takes off now. The idea is great and it deserves this kind of execution

Octavia is the first one to have a strong connection with a 'grounder' (she was also the first person from space to touch the ground in episode 1

Warning: Spoilers
Finn is the is the worst in this situation. He and Raven grew up together. That's years of life and connection. And he's known Clarke for 10 days and is supposedly "falling in love with her" to the point where he can't help it? Please. That's just lust, and he's being selfish to give up years of love with someone like Raven who risked her life to come down and save him....for something new and shiny. This is no shade to Clarke at all, but this is basically what he did. Never even told Clarke he had a girlfriend. And he did not wait for 10 days - he started hitting on her on the dropship and was doing everything to try to impress her. Even his 'heroic' moments were only when she was around to see. Only went on the quest to help Jasper not just after Clarke shamed him into it, but after he learned she took Bellamy with her, too. Then he wasn't taking it seriously and wanted to flirt and play in the water while their friend was potentially dying. I've hated him ever since. He found a shelter with supplies and didn't tell anyone else because he just wanted to impress her and have a place to go with her, even though the group may have needed it. This makes me think that he was always only helping Raven with food rations because he was into her. Clarke and Raven can both do so much better than him. But Raven was a neglected little girl with an alcoholic mother who'd let her starve, and Finn was there to give her food and make her feel he's her only family. She probably also has self esteem issues, as an abused and neglected child, and he was her first and only boyfriend. And Clarke has probably very little romantic experience and had spent a full year locked up in a solitary, so it's not surprising she falls for the first guy who's paying her constant attention and trying to win her over by portraying himself as a great guy.

Tourture was not necessary

Some pointless actions in this episode, the story builds but some side stories makes no sense or the decisions/reactions of the participants are hard to believe/understand.

Everyone wants to have now in shows powerful women that take leadership but then are only masculine archetype, cannot manifest the masculine and then the feminine behaviour in a few seconds, that will destabilise a person, but we live strange times....in a decade we will see this and we will dismiss as propaganda, the same thing happened with the comunism, and many others before....
