There werewolf is one of the monsters that seems to be building in popularity right now, especially with Hemlock Grove and Teen Wolf gaining fans in the teen market. In movies there are plenty of classics to pick your favourite from, mine would be American Werewolf in London. With films like Dog Soldiers and now WolfCop, the werewolf is back to being fun. Now with the release of low-budget Werewolf Rising, is this another win for fans of the lycanthropic ones?

Here are a few things we love around these parts Spirited indie films werewolf stories and Bill Oberst Jr.. When you go so far as to combine all three of those things we tend to get really excited. Thats exactly what writerdirector BC Furtney has done with Werewolf Rising so you can bet our eyes are wide open and were certainly anticipating the arrival of this little prospect. Whether it turns out to be the gem were hoping for or not remains to be seen but this new trailer offers hope.

Rlj Entertainment has just released the official trailer for Werewolf Rising. This independent feature is from Ruthless Pictures and director BC Furtney (New Terminal Hotel). Ruthless Pictures has developed several horror features as of late, including: Mischief Night (2013) and All Hallow's Eve (2013). Their latest involves escaped convicts and a hairy beast, looming in the woods. The film' official trailer is hosted here. For more on the story, Emma (Melissa Carnell) retreats to a remote cabin, deep in the Arkansas woods. Here, a bloodthirsty werewolf is waiting for someone to gnaw on. Now, Emma must face a ferocious beast as the locals turn into bloody smears. Werewolf Rising is set for an October release. On October 14th, the film will be released on DVD, through Rlj Entertainment. Fans of werewolf horror features will not have to wait long to feast their eyes on this feature.
