Storyline
Plot Summary |
While still working at the diner where she met her current boyfriend Daniel, the line cook, Aurora gets a job as the TA in Professor Lindo's True Crime Literature class, which doesn't sit well with Aida in thinking the subject morbid. What Aida does like is the possibility of spending even more time with her daughter as Aida too is working at the college consulting for a business class. And like Aurora, Sally has moved home to save money in being between jobs and struggling to find a career. While Arthur would like to spend more time with Aurora in always liking her possibly as more than a friend, they will spend more time together professionally as Aurora and Professor Lindo discover a dead body in the driver's seat of a car in the diner's parking lot, the deceased one of their students, with Arthur assisting Detective Cook who is leading the investigation. Not sitting well with Cook, Aurora conducts her own investigation for the protection and safety of the students, as it looks as if the victim was murdered by being poisoned. With Aurora and Arthur liaising with each other, they discover that they both have the same suspect list of four people - all associated with the True Crime class - who had opportunity and/or motive, they coming to their respective lists from different angles, Arthur and Cook on traditional evidence, and Aurora and her cohorts, including Professor Lindo and Sally, largely from Professor Lindo's class, past and present. But both investigations seem stymied as, as each suspect moves to the top of the list multiple times, he/she is usurped by another, with not enough evidence any time to pin it on any one of them. Believing the class the key to the actual murder (although not the motive), Aurora may find some answers in the class syllabus and assignments. Written by Huggo |

Trivia | Aida reminds Aurora about how to set a place setting by using the "d" mnemonic; that you can form the letter "d" - which stands for drinks - with your right hand. You can more easily remember the order by counting the letters in each item. "Left" has four letters (even); "right" has five (odd). All even-number-lettered items go on the left (fork, napkin) and all odd-number-lettered items go on the right (cup/glass, knife, spoon). See more » |
