entertaining movie...based on historical event....great acting

this movie clearly shows the problems villages faced during revolution(around 20 yrs back), discrimination between so called lower and upper class which is still present till date. Talakjung (Khagendra lamichanne), the main character of this movie keeps us entertaining throughout the movie. It also gives us glimpse of situation in Kathmandu back in revolution days. Dayahang Rai does a good job. Overall, the movie is well presented and the story is very good. Its a must watch. Its clearly one the best movie I saw this year (that includes among Hollywood and Bollywood). So watch this movie and enjoy....

Talakjung Vs Tulke is a story about a common villager, living in a Nepalese mountain village.

Warning: Spoilers
Cast: Khagendra Lamichane, Dayahang Rai, Richa Sharma, Sushank Mainali, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Prakash Ghimire Director: Nischal Basnet Story: Khagendra Lamichane Screenplay: Khagendra Lamichane, Nischal Basnet

Talakjung Vs Tulke is a story about a common villager, living in a Nepalese mountain village. A person who is struggling to reclaim his lost aristocratic identity and is humiliated everyday by people around him. He is a common laborer who desperately seeks recognition and respect, 'Tulke'. Oops sorry, 'Talakjung Singh Thakuri' or 'Babu Saheb'. The story takes place in time of Nepalese Civil War which lasted around 1996 – 2006 in Nepal.

The Nepalese Civil War was an armed conflict between government forces and Maoist fighters in Nepal which lasted from 1996 until 2006. The war was launched by the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) on 13 February 1996, with the aim of overthrowing the Nepalese monarchy and establishing a 'People's Republic'. It ended with the Comprehensive Peace Accord signed on 21 November 2006. Nepal's decade-long civil war left more than 16,000 dead, with rebels and security forces accused of serious human rights violations including killings, rapes, torture and disappearances. (More about Nepalese Civil War: Wikipedia)

Talakjung Vs Tulke is another masterpiece by Nischal Basnet. I was really impressed by how he took care of every small detail in the movie. It was remarkable journey from start to finish, a new taste. I have known Nishal Basnet for breaking trends in the movie industry, and yet again he has done so with another flawless movie. This movie doesn't have dramatic dialogues of Rajesh Hamal and breathtaking action of Nikhil Upreti, but has a very powerful script with sensible dialogues and fight scenes. Besides the story, Khagendra Lamichhane was astounding from start till end. He carried out each dialogues and performance very well and deserves credit for how beautiful the movie has become. Dayahang Rai's special appearance was very short and sweet. There was however only one song, which was not the best.

Plot:

Tulke – a simpleton day-laborer in a Nepalese mountain village – struggles to reclaim his lost aristocratic identity while a violent revolution disrupts every aspect of village life. Humiliated everyday by everybody around him, Tulke desperately seeks recognition and respect. Instead, he is falsely accused by the woman he loves and forced to flee from his ancestral village. When the city corrupts him and teaches him how the treacherous accumulate and wield power, he returns to his village to avenge himself against people who have wronged him and his family. He becomes a lackey to the revolutionaries in the village, and because he refuses to wrong those he loves, finds himself ensnared in a web of deception and violence, leading to a tragic conclusion for everybody.

Watch or not?

It's a movie that you probably would not have imagined and a kind of movie that you cannot taste in foreign movie. A must watch movie for all who can understand Nepali.

Very Typically Original Nepali Move... Must See!!!

I saw most of the 2014 release from Hollywood to Bollywood. Xmen, Transformer, 300 Rise of Empire, Hobbit and even then to Bollywood scam movies I would like to say like Bang Bang, Singam Return. These movies are like Balloons filled with air. It seems like they are pouring much of their money and effort in advertisement rather than making a worthy movie. After Loot, I saw Nischal Basnet's Talak Jung Vs Tulke and believe me folks Hollywood and Bollywood will never ever have this kinda story. I was genuinely hypnotized by a total original Nepali movie with very class acting by Nepalese veteran Actors like Daya Hang who is awesome and the central character like Talakjung (Khagendra Lamichanne) has done a great job. Every Actors acting are so flawless and natural that I felt in fact the whole story being perform right behind my eyes. Village details and languages are so carefully presented with so much detail. Now there is a good movie and I think it's our job to do justice to these movies by meaningful comments and a worthy praise by at least watching this movie at once. I hope you will be totally lost into Nepali Social Aroma while watching the movie. Hats off to you Nischal and the Team!!!

Definitely not to miss...

And you said, they don't homework much for a movie. Thank god! We have Dipendra khanal and this masterpiece. Watch it for the sake of good time even if you are not familiar with the-then-situation of Nepal. Smooth screenplay, light story line but above everything else, is the acting skill of actors.

Applaud for the Dipendra and Reecha for an effort to have an accent as per the script.
