1 Kennex + 2 DRN's = 1 Irritated Kennex.

After last weeks's dissociative multiple storyline Ep, we are given this one as a Christmas Present- Cos it's got even more stuff crammed into it, a nice juicy look at Affordable Care in the Future.

It seems that even in the Mid Century 2050's with all of the tech advancements we have seen in this show, the teaser shows Holographic Medical Diagnostician breaking down- As well as Kennex' radio. But seconds later a man with a gun tries to get on Cardiac Support (at gunpoint, d'oh)- But it was too late- "He's Dead, Kennex!"

Looks like the Jarvik-2000 Heart is are not going to be common, but a new brand seems to be the best thing that people who can't get their old hearts cloned can get.

But... These things are not supposed to shut off, are they?

What is shown here is a hideous crime, people who had gone underground because the Insurance Companies and Medical Corporations have deserted them, have a simple choice: Keep paying a monthly extortion fee, or their medical organs will be shut off.

But who is really doing this? The Doctor who had done the transplant, had no idea he was sticking in a kill switch, he was told it was something else. Plus, nobody was really telling him where the electric hearts were coming from - "I see Dead People, and lots and lots of arms, legs, and hearts".

If you wanna know what a future Crematorium will look like, this is your chance.

All of the people involved in this ersatz "medical profession" are compartmentalized, so none of them really know who is in charge of it all.

All through this Future CSI, Kennex has not one but two DRN's to contend with, and it is driving him crazy. And we get more information on the history and fate of former DRN Police Units. I was wondering if Michael Ealy had a twin brother, the interaction between Ealy and Ealy is like two different people.

This is an example of just how good this show can be, and I suspect it can only get even better if allowed to stay on the air.

The level of realism in the Future Landscape is remarkable, especially when stuff starts malfunctioning with Rube Goldberg results - An unfortunate chain of events started by the 2nd DRN, which Our Dorian had caused by giving DRN-2 his case files, not updated.

But as far as who is responsible for this uncannily cruel crime, Kennex and Dorian find out, through all of the twists and turns of a future labyrinth of Medical Corps, Insurance Companies, Future Quicksilver Messengers, and used and re-used body parts. Both hilarious and creepy at the same time.

A real modern story about Androids.

I like the way this show treats the relations between robots and humans,it is nothing too utopic and it is a very mature way to see things.

First "just okay" episode

Warning: Spoilers
This is the first time that the episode just didn't seem to flow right and the interactions between the characters seemed forced. A handful of "bring a smile to your face" moments but nothing that made me think "if all my friends saw THIS episode, they'd be hooked!"

** Following contains some spoilers **

The second Dorian was awkward as well. It didn't seem fitting for Dorian's character that he'd break code to take this other DRN along with him. If the other DRN could have been a little more involved, then it might have been a good story ... but he basically just kept the backseat warm and the one time he did try to do something it went terribly wrong. Just seemed like a waste of a potentially good plot twist that fell flat on its face.
