When Ilana finds out about a secret, pop-up Lil Wayne concert, she and Abbi hustle their way through New York City to try and scrape together enough money for tickets. No matter how creepy it gets, the girls keep their eyes on the prize.

As the scene begins we catch Abbi just in time for her pre-scheduled masturbation session. She gets a video call on her laptop from her best friend Ilana and fumbles for a moment in an attempt to shut off her vibrator. Ilana asks if shes ready for tonight, the night they become boss bitches. Ilana states that the will be attending a secret Lil Wayne concert. When Abbi opts out citing financial instability Ilana offers to cover her expenses with her paycheck she is expecting. Abbi again turns her friend down because she is close to finishing season one of a show she likes. Ilana chides her friend for being boring and correctly guess that the uptight Abbi must even schedule time to jack off. When Ilanas computer shifts Abbi realizes that Abbi is simultaneously having sex with a mutual Acquaintance of theirs named Lincoln. After laying down some new boundaries in their friendship and greeting Lincoln Abbi signs off. When Lincoln asks Ilana the status of their relationship she assures him it is purely physical, something he seems disappointed by but takes in stride.

Somewhere in a trendy gym a spin class works out on bike machines to Abbis encouragement. It is quickly revealed that Abbi is a cleaner not the instructor as we see her wiping down a large waste bin. Tre, Abbis supervisor, pops up and points her in the direction of a clogged toilet in the ladies room that demands her attention. As a final jab he orders not to make eye contact with the gym members while she is holding the plunger as it bums them out.

At Ilanas place of employment she seems to be experiencing a similar level of discontent during a staff meeting. When she gets the news that she wont be getting paid until Friday (Its Tuesday) she heads back to her desk. Her boss gives them the latest update on his love life before sending the rest of them back to their desks also. Ilana hits craigslist looking to make some cash but is busted by her boss who knows she isnt doing work. Ilana decides to take lunch without really waiting for his permission to do so. The ineffectual manager can do little more than meekly beg her to come back this time.

Ilana pops up at Abbis gym in an attempt to get her to bail on work also. Abbi believes she isnt far from being asked to fill in for an absentee trainer one of these days. Ilana isnt buying and insists that they dont respect Abbi. Right on cue Tre pops up with a seemingly important request of Abbi. When it turns out to be pubic hair in a shower stall that needs cleaning out Abbis hopes are clearly dashed and Ilanas point proven. Abbi finally decides to lie and say she has to go get some scary test results back from her doctor. Tre rudely and unethically presses Abbi for more information on what STD she may or may not have. Upon learning that it may be AIDS Tre is finally willing to let Abbi go but of course asks to be notified if she has AIDS. Finally free and clear for the day Abbi gets a sound applause from Ilana for her masterful performance.

The girls deduce that they will need $200 to cover the cost of tickets, weed and drinks at the venue. Luckily Ilana stole a bunch of office supplies from her job for withholding her pay. In line at the office supply store a debate about the origin of Louie Armstrongs What a Wonderful World earns them a look of ire from the cashier. Ilana returns the items for a whopping 135 bucks only to find out it isnt cash but store credit. Returning to Abbis Apartment they are greeted by her roommates disgusting boyfriend. Abbi notices right away that he has eaten all her cheese. When Abbi confronts him about it he claims to not have known it belonged to her despite it being clearly labeled, adding insult to injury he also advises her that he clogged the toilet. In the bathroom Ilana hammers out the details of a possible business opportunity but fumbles it when she reveals that she and Abbi are not underage as the potential client wishes. She goes to work on the clogged toilet after the call is terminated. While counting her loose change Abbi uncovers her performance bib and the girls get an idea on how to raise some more money for their wheezy fund.

On their way out Abbi runs into her neighbor who she clearly has a thing for. Completely missing his hint that she should help him finish a batch of his home brewed beer she is snapped out of her reverie but her roommates boyfriend who asks her to get some toilet paper since shes going out anyway. He makes matters worse by actually requesting some snacks when she sarcastically asks if she can get him anything else. In the park Ilana meets up with Jimmy her friend/roommate/weed dealer who hands her an 8th and her own performance bib. She assures him that anytime hes ready to become an American citizen her legs are open for him. Abbi steps up to convince him to take the office supply gift card as payment for the weed and is surprised at his willingness to accept the deal. Now with only $140 left to raise the ladies prepare to perform in the park. Abbi notices Lincoln, Ilanas special friend from earlier lurking nearby in his work scrubs. Ilana goes to see why hes there and he says he saw her tweet about the performance and wanted to support her but also respect her space. (Hence the lurking.) Ilana seems cool with it and promises to respect his penis later.

Abbi and Ilana get off to a slow start and have trouble gathering an audience with their bucket drumming. Nearby, Lincoln briefs an uninterested older lady on his relationship status with Ilana. A break-dancer walks up and begins dancing to Abbi and Ilanas music. They kick it up a notch when the break-dancer garners more attentions than them but become visibly upset when the dancer starts raking in the cash. The two decide to kill the music which earns them a savage booing from the crowd gathered around the dancer. Later they are seen walking down the street having been robbed for their change by a homeless woman. Abbi stops get high for a moment while Ilana watches her back. Less than a second later Ilana gets a phone call and abandons her friend who didnt even notice. Abbi catches up to Ilana who tells her that the backup plan has come into effect.

The Ladies enter an apartment at which point Ilana states that she is going to start taking her clothes off. When Abbi questions why she is doing this Ilana explains that they will be getting paid to do an hour of cleaning in their underwear. Abbi is obviously against the plan but Ilana shushes her and motions towards the creepy man hiding behind the curtains.

Abbi is still refusing to clean the creepy guys apartment so Ilana brings out the big guns. She claims that Abbi is losing her edge and isnt as fun as she used to be. This convinces Abbi to join, finally the two strip down and get to work while the man watches them. At the end of the hour they get dressed and demand their money only for him to say he doesnt have any in a baby voice. When he offers to pay them in blocks they begin a pitiful attempt to trash his apartment. Having done little more that knocking a few things over and throwing tissues on the floor (None of which the man baby seemed to mind) they finally steal a hat, coat and a bottle of liquor each before leaving.

Later on the two sit on a stoop getting drunk and rationalizing having missed the concert. Abbi admits she still doesnt even know who Lil Wayne is while Ilana is convinced he sounds better prerecorded. When a nearby homeless woman starts cramping their style the two head to the subway to give her some space.

Back at Ilanas apartment Jimmy pays for five pizzas with the office supply gift card. As he passes by the bathroom a sickeningly drunk Ilana calls out to him for help. Apparently she meant help her video call Abbi who is confused why Ilana is so sick when they drank the same amount. Ilana invites Abbi over to hang and seems to seal the deal when she mentions theres also pizza to be had.
