a film combining dance and horror in generous doses. there is a confusing but interesting sequence of events (or are they dreams) which unfold in the short film, leading to a very mysterious ending. The color of the video is quite striking, in that many different frames contain widely divergent hues...all to further intoxicate us with the Coukis' psychedelic vision. Although not very gory or violent overtly, the film does give off a very disturbing and eerie feel. a feeling of dread confronts us toward the middle of the video. The music is typical of what Coukis does...very dark keyboards, which sometimes sound as if they were recorded in another time period, and bear no resemblance to anything modern listeners like nowadays. Many sexy photos and film clips of sexy women are included for pure eye candy. there is one especially nice clip of two 1960s type girls are dancing in their bikinis. Overall, i would rate Grimpire as a slightly above average venture into the world of psychedelic art horror of the low budget type.
