I enjoy the reality shows about gold mining, and there seems to be more and more popping up. This one however, is pathetic.
A 50 or 60 year old woman and her gaggle of spoiled, lazy daughters head to alaska to work the claim of her father. The girls act like they are going on a trip to the day spa, rather than heading out into the alaskan wild to do hard, back breaking work.
They talk down at their frustrated crew of hired gold miners. They bicker, squabble and throw temper tantrums ten times a show. They don't want to be there, don't want to put the actual effort to make gold, and are obviously in it for the reality show paycheck.
Most of the "action" shots seem staged. I hate it when they edit in sound effects like a dog barking when it isn't or the sound of heavily blowing wind and the grass isn't even moving... and it happens constantly.
98% of every episode seems to be each one of the women fighting with each other or the men they have mined. And it isn't legit fighting for a reason, but just whiny nattering.
I won't watch this show anymore, and wouldn't advise anyone else to watch it either. Gold Rush for its flaws is far superior, as is bering sea gold, ice cold gold and pretty much any other show on TV.
