Fox's Looney Lens was launched to humorously highlight special effects camerawork. The split images of skyscrapers and automobiles are uncannily close to those used in Dziga Vertov's 'The Man With A Movie Camera'. The warping lens used to photograph 10th Avenue, however, seems to puzzle the filmmakers. The FOX Movietone News cameraman Alfred Dillentash "Al" Brick later on became famous as the only cameraman to film footage of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
