Crocs Stalking Darwin
Croc Attack (2010)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
This Discovery Channel documentary takes a look at the recent attacks in Darwin, Australia where crocodiles are killing people in areas that have never had problems before. The documentary tries to figure out why so many people are being attacked in areas where there were no previous attacks as well as trying to figure out what to do as angry locals are wanting the reptiles killed. I'm not going to lie, snakes, alligators and crocodiles are three things that scare me so watching a documentary about one of them killing people is certainly going to leave me creeped out. So did CROC ATTACK creep me out? You bet it did. With that said, this was an extremely well-produced show that managed to show the fears of jumping into water thinking you're safe and not knowing that something might be lurking there. There's a re-enactment of an eleven-year-old girl who was killed and this entire sequence is just intense as well as sad. As far as the educational factor goes it too is pretty high because we're given some great information on why these attacks might be taking place and why killing the crocs isn't going to be the answer.
