Most of the actors provided their own clothes and worked for free. The T-shirt Valeria Uribe wears is from the sound recordist Juan Pablo Páez. They changed T-shirts minutes before shooting. The T-shirt is from "Utopians," an Argentinean band.
Although they are never seen, some of the books the main character carries around are "The Painted Bird" and "Steps" by Jerzy Kosinski, "The Catcher In The Rye" by J.D. Salinger, "Nausea" by Jean-Paul Sartre and "L'Etranger" by Albert Camus. All references used for the film.
Luis Dubó was attached to the project and was going to work for free as he had liked the script. However, shooting issues regarding the hospital that was meant to be used for his scene forced him to be unable to participate due to the uncertainty about his shooting day. His character was supposed to be a client of Eusebio. The role of this character was replaced by a homeless person who improvised all his lines.
The main inspiration and first idea for this film came from Naked (1993) by Mike Leigh . The director wanted to make some sort of Chilean version of it, but the idea changed drastically soon since its journey-like nature required too many locations and characters and the illness of the protagonist needed more urgency.
Shot in 17 days in Santiago de Chile, from October 11th, 2012 to November 13th, 2012.
