Van In's team is delighted with their new colleague, criminologist Eric Vranckx, who proves as bright as attractive, notably to lonely widowed mother Neels. His first case is the fatal fall, badly staged as suicide after a struggle, of cocaine addict Ellen Wesenbeeck, who fled loving father John's after he remarried beautician Veerle Dams. Ellen's ex, clean model-youth Ben Fierens, whose parents turned the drug whore away, is more cooperative then Ghent dealer Steve Goethals, under whose window the corpse was found, or lower neighbor Lennart Nys, who was blackmailed with a sex tape.
