I am a woman but watching this show I can easily see how fast one can turn into a misogynist. Take Daya and her treatment of lover boy Bennet. Granted that he shouldn't have a started a physical relationship with an inmate under ANY circumstances, once Daya gets pregnant, she decides to keep the baby, despite the fact that the father is clearly against this idea.
After some appalling behaviour from Daya's mother and friends, Bennet is even more unsure about this baby but Daya pushes him even further saying he should "tell the truth and get incarcerated" so they would get even. Really loving words, aren't they? Despite her shaky background, Daya wants to call all the shots and "get even" for the mess she got herself into. She wants her lover to suffer, because ain't that what true love is about?
And what about unbearable Piper? If I recall correctly, her relationship with Larry was OVER, also because of her betrayal, but it turns out Larry should keep celibate, even if Piper is a lesbian. Why? Because she's selfish, narcissistic, entitled and childish. So she plans an idiotic "revenge" that her silly sister-in-law carries out.
Not only that, but we're force-fed AGAIN the Chapman and Vause love story, about which we know more than enough, even if more of that saccharine, fake controversial relationship is to come. This show would be so much better without their story and possibly without Piper. The only saving grace are characters like Nicky, Red and Vee who have some backbone and personality.
