- AnecdotesIn the scene in which Vee (Lorraine Toussaint) attempts to caution Mendoza (Selenis Leyva) about working with Red (Kate Mulgrew), Vee asks Mendoza if she has heard of the fable of the frog and the scorpion. The full version of this metaphorical story is that the scorpion must cross a river, a task which only the frog can do. The frog is understandably apprehensive about crossing the river with the dangerous scorpion on its back but lets itself be convinced with the logic that, if stung, they will both perish. The frog swims halfway across the river before being stung by the scorpion which prompts the frog to ask it, "why" since they will now both die. The scorpion responds that it couldn't be avoided because it is in his nature to do so. It is this tale from which a Star Trek: Voyager (1995) two-partner episode draws it's title, "Scorpion.@ The story is told in a similar fashion from the first officer to his captain who is planning to ally with an unpredictable threat in order to combat another. That captain is Capt. Janeway played by Kate Mulgrew who plays Red in this series. Mendoza quips that they (Vee and Red) are both scorpions.
- GaffesIn Rosa's flashbacks, which are supposed to be set in the 1970s, there are modern-day cars in the background when she and the two men she is with are driving away from their first robbery.

A Good Episode
Orange is the New Black Season 2 Episode 8
Review:
Acting : In this episode, all the actors and actresses have performed well. The comic timing of some of the actors and actresses was very good in this episode. The performances of the actresses and actors in the supporting roles in particular are really admirable.
Story : In the case of this episode, I would like to say that the writers have written a good enough story which includes laughter, quarrels, jealousy, pain of losing someone and love. I can say that after many episodes, I got a touch of a good and interesting story.
Direction : The director has done a good enough direction and after many episodes I have to say that the director has done a good job in this episode.
Dialogue : Good enough dialogue is given here. Many emotional dialogues have been delivered very well here. The overall dialogue is good enough and has been used intelligently.
Background Score and Soundtrack : After many episodes, the background score in the episode has been used well enough and the soundtrack has been used well enough.
Others : Many thanks to the editor and cinematographer for giving us with such a beautiful episode. I think their work is more difficult than that of an actor, actresses aur director.
Overall Episode : This episode is good enough, so I will give it 8 out of 10 stars.
