K-9 unit

Warning: Spoilers
Retired police commissioner Len Cariou gets the old juices flowing when at a funeral for a retired cop the man's daughter pulls him aside and says her mom poisoned her dad. Getting an unofficial case to work on Cariou actually finds evidence that does support the allegation.

Family involvement plays a big part when Donnie Wahlberg and Marisa Ramirez catch an official case where someone is shot in an alley. Captured on surveillance tape from nearby businesses is Ramirez's junkie brother running from the alley. The tape however does not tell the real story.

Best is Tom Selleck dealing with bottom feeding lawyer Remy Auberjonois who is suing the department because a police dog bit his son. Any settlement would include putting the dog down. Selleck takes a personal interest in this one because he's had good history with the K-9 unit.

Strongest part of the episode without a doubt Selleck's story, but all around good.

Warning: Spoilers
Another very good episode dealing with Danny's partner's brother, a recovering drug addict, soon caught up in mayhem as his former supplier, thinking that he will squeal on him, seeks to kill him. The sister has really soured on her brother, but it takes a brave act on his part to reverse her course of thinking.

Len Cariou's former colleague dies and his daughter suspects that the man's wife, also a retired officer, killed him so as to put him out of his mystery. Cariou seems to find proof indicating this only to be proved wrong in the end.

Still another part of the episode dealt with a lawyer suing the city when his son was allegedly bitten by a police dog. Frank, sympathetic to the dog, based upon his earlier tragic encounter with another police dog, seeks to prove otherwise. Of course, in the end, we just find another lawyer seeking to play the system.
