Adaptoria tackles this whale of a tale from the most important piece of writing in the world: The Holy Bible. When the Prophet Jonah receives a command from God to go and preach to the Ninevites, he instead flees from His presence and escapes onto a ship heading for Tarshish. However, a storm arises on the sea and threatens to overtake the ship. Jonah tells the sailors that they must throw him overboard if they are to be saved. Although reluctant and left with no other options, the sailors pray for mercy from the God of Israel, and throw the prophet overboard. This calms the seas again, but Jonah is not out of danger yet, as he is at the mercy of the ocean, when A Great Fish send by the Lord comes and swallows up Jonah. In the belly of the fish, Jonah prays for forgiveness and thanks God for saving his life and so in return God tells The Great Fish to return Jonah to the land so that he may preach the message the Lord commanded of him. So, Jonah goes to Nineveh and preaches to the Ninevites, who upon hearing this are gravely concerned for their sinfulness and pray for forgiveness. God then sees their sorrowfulness and decides not to destroy them. However, Jonah the Prophet is very unhappy with this outcome as he did not want the Ninevites to be forgiven. He becomes angry with God and wishes to die. The Lord God then must teach Jonah a lesson in mercy and forgiveness.
