Best Ghost show I've Seen!
bmxluv14 November 2013
This show is very well done, and is based on Actual People's first hand accounts of their ghost stories.

The directing is very professional and scarier than ANY Scary movie I've ever seen. Its a tad scarier than "A Haunting" because these stories are based on facts.

I highly recommend this show to anyone interested in the paranormal and looking for a real thrill, not the usual cheesy "ghost hunter" type shows...this show is based on actual ghost stories from Real People, not actors. Give this show a try and you will NOT be disappointed. Only four episodes have aired and each one is better than the next. I can't wait to see what will happen in future episodes.

The only genuine attack here is on people's intelligence.

Warning: Spoilers
When assessing the quality of any television show, one must first clearly understand the genre into which that show falls before attempting to explore the content. Sadly, this particular affront to programming would do better to bill itself as a parody comedy than an actual documentary series.

Even taking into account the so-bad-it's-good factor, this abysmal effort is poorly constructed and shoddily assembled with what must be the world's lowest production budget. The mishmash of grainy tracking shots and eerie stock horror flick music is punctuated by hastily recorded interviews with the so called victims of ghostly assaults.

In addition, the episodes are comprised almost entirely of dramatic re- enactments and victim voice overs, offering no empirical photographic or film evidence to substantiate the allegedly true story-lines. This succeeds only in making the supposed victims appear at best slightly disturbed and at worst woefully moronic.

My heart goes out to the poor actors whose career prospects are so diminished that they must debase themselves by taking part in such a lowly excuse for entertainment. Mercifully, their performances are limited primarily to looks of fearful concern and the occasional scream of anguish. Having sat through an entire episode of When Ghosts Attack, I know exactly how they feel.

I indicated at the top of this review that it contained a spoiler, so here it is; This show is terrible. I am now a stupider person for having watched it, and I truly hope this review helps prevent anyone else from having their brains assailed by this utter drivel. I wish IMDb would allow me to assign it a rating lower than 1 out of 10.

Attack of the Ghastly Ghouls

This show takes the stories of "ordinary" citizens and concocts campy little skits to help along the storytelling. Putting aside the less than spectacular special effects, and the slightly mocking tone of the narrator, some of the stories still managed to relay some interesting and quirky 'events'. While some stories appeared honest and believable (these people genuinely believed something supernatural occurred) others... did not.

This show has many problems but despite them or rather in spite of them still occasionally manages to entertain . It's one way to 'kill' an hour if you enjoy ghost stories, and can tolerate a total lack of any evidence.

Episodes vary widely in content and entertainment value, as each is a unique experience told through the viewpoint of the guest.

Skeptical after first episode
grimmett-1427218 September 2022
I'm really into paranormal shows but cannot really take them seriously unless there is some truth to them. Being from WV, I was excited to watch the first story that took place in Fayetteville. After watching, I decided to research William Bennett (the ghost in the house). I've been doing genealogical research for about 20 years. I cannot find this William Bennett in census or death records. The two Bennetts I did find died of natural causes decades later. Did they use a fake name for a ghost while using real names for the people telling the story? I cannot respect nor enjoy these shows if they are just meant for entertainment. Especially when they claim to be true stories but cannot be verified.
