Director Aeneas Middleton has said that the film took inspiration from End of Days (1999), Constantine (2005), The Book of Eli (2010), and Seven (1995).
The film will be shot in eight weeks over the course of Winter 2016/Spring 2017.
It was confirmed in 2015 that Hardley Davidson will compose the music for Fireangels: A Drifter's Fury. This will be the 2nd feature he composes under the Burnin Rubber Music Publishing imprint.
A black and white version of the film was also released on Christmas Eve 2017.
