Aging actor Lester Rosenthal (Gabriel Byrne), who has lost his way with his career, with his family, and with his friends (Nathan Lane, Frances Conroy, & Boyd Gaines) finds out that the way out is through.
No Pay, Nudity is an excellent movie with outstanding performances by the cast -- especially Gabriel Byrne and Nathan Lane. Although it focuses on the lives of actors, the issues it addresses -- career vs. family, friendship, aging, frustrations, hopes, and loving what you do, to name a few -- are universal. The movie contains a lot of humor as well as soul-searching, often intertwined. It's both highly entertaining and thought- provoking. You see Gabriel Byrne in a role unlike any you've ever seen him in before, and he nails it. Nathan Lane has never been better -- in addition to the humor we've come to expect of him, he brings a world-weary depth to his character as well as a highly principled fierceness. And Lane's fat-suit is terrific!
