Worth a watch if you like the series

The episode quality the first half this season has been below average in my book, but since episode 5 they have been back to normal quality. This first part of a two-part storyline continues the pattern. As with the last episode, cast changes shine a light on the series' characters, which together with the idyllic environment are probably a major reason the show draws viewers. Let's face it: the murder mystery plots are not the show's strongest suit. The plot in this episode is similar at its core to many before it, but still provides suspense because the clues are obscured. The greater suspense has to do with the regular characters in the show, and whether two of them in particular will come together or separate. That we will hopefully find out in Episode 8.

A pretty good penultimate episode for Neville.

On neighbouring island, Saint Auguste, British holiday maker Abigail Warner is found dead, floating on top of a swimming pool, on hand is DS Cassell, who's witness protection scheme has recently ended.

A solid, if somewhat unremarkable episode, plenty going on for Florence, but sadly, the four suspects are all pretty ghastly, the kind of people you'd move carriages on a train to get away trom, and the crime itself, just not very interesting. The announcement of Neville's leaving was very underwhelming.

Great to see the wonderful Florence back, she slipped back into the role with real ease, the show benefited hugely from her presence, it makes me wish that they'd develop Naomi a little, they need to give her a storyline, she's still a little anonymous.

Is it about time that they opted to murder an American tourist, or an island local, this small island is very rapidly overtaking Cabot Cove as the most deadly slaughter house on Earth.

Dwayne, good to have him back, but was it a little too over the top at times, on occasion, it was verging on silliness.

6.5/10.

Warning: Spoilers
So glad to see Florence and Dwayne back; maybe that will help return the series to its previous quality.

This episode was a great return for Florence and the unresolved feeling Neville has for her.

It's a good episode for Dwayne and Florence and makes you wonder where it goes from here.

I haven't been a fan of the cast this series or the writing but both drastically improved with this episode.

I wish Catherine's role would return to how it was instead of 2 or 3 minutes per episode (it seems) and have enjoyed the commissioners improve role and his interactions with Neville.

I hope that Ralf remains with the series and they don't write him out or Florence because there is so much potential for future stories there.

Episode 7

Living in witness protection must have been hard for Florence. She has been stuck all this time in a small neighbouring island Saint Auguste. So small it even doesn't have his own police force.

Luckily for Florence her time in witness protection has ended. Just in time as she bumps into Darlene and Dwayne who have arrived in the small island. They are here to look at the apparent accidental death of British tourist Abigail Warner.

She only arrived a day earlier. At the same time of well known social media influencer Cressida Dempsey and several of her school friends.

Abigail was found drowned and it appears she slipped. Florence and DI Neville Parker become concerned that Abigail was at the same school and at the same time as Cressida and others.

The episode very much has Florence as the lead investigator. Back at Saint Marie DI Parker is getting ready to depart the island.

As for the suspects, they were a selfish, self centered lot. No wonder the story was about school bullying. One of the suspects planned to be a politician. He seemed to have all the right credentials.

The story was not without issues. There could only be one likely culprit. As for the memory card, would it also not be better for Abigail to have uploaded her evidence onto the cloud as well.
