Nifty retrospective documentary
Woodyanders2 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This 20-minute retrospective documentary offers a pretty entertaining and informative glimpse at the making of the made-for-cable TV horror anthology "Body Bags." Director John Carpenter admits that he really doesn't care for horror anthologies and that all the make-up he had to wear as the coroner loosened him up as an actor. Robert Carradine talks about how he relished playing a killer in the segment "The Gas Station" and convinced Carpenter to be under the lift when his character Bill gets killed. Stacy Keach reveals that the character he portrayed in "Hair" was dear to his heart and candidly discusses his own past issues with baldness. Producer Sandy King notes that the screenwriters contacted her first and suggested to Carpenter that he play the coroner. Moreover, we also learn that Clive Barker was asked to play a part, but turned said offer down because he was busy at the time, Tom Arnold enjoyed acting alongside noted horror director Tobe Hooper, the Showtime Network wanted to do a spin-off TV series to be shot in Canada because it's cheaper to film there, and that Carpenter is an easy director to work with who never loses his cool. Recommended viewing for fans of the film.
