Summaries

  • Miss Fisher goes undercover to investigate how Jack's unconscious ex-father-in-law came to lie near the slain best friend of Dot's sister (a lady of the evening) with the door bolted from the inside.
  • Dot's sister, Lola, visits and implores Phryne to investigate the murder of fellow showgirl Lavinia. Meanwhile, Jack's ex-wife begs him to take over the investigation of a murder in which her father apparently killed the woman inside a locked room. Jack and Phryne meet at the crime scene where it seems impossible for another to have committed the crime. Phryne goes undercover as a fan dancer and Jack visits the bordello (where the rich and powerful go to play and the police are definitely not welcome) to try to catch the real killer.—Mark Smith <msmith@osi.co.uk>
  • When Jack's ex-father-in-law, Deputy Commissioner George Sanderson, is implicated in the brutal murder of a prostitute, Jack is determined to clear his name. Despite strict instructions from Jack not to meddle in his case, Phryne decides to perfect her 'fan dance' in order to go undercover at the gentleman's club of the notorious Madam Lyon.
  • Deputy Commissioner George Sanderson, Jack's ex-father-in-law, is implicated in the murder of a gentlemen's club 'hostess' showgirl Lavinia, left in a closed room with the corpse, probably drugged and amnesiac. Jack becomes determined to clear his name and has to deal with the reappearance of his estranged wife, Rosie, and the commissioner insisting on no semblance of favoritism. Phryne was hired by Dot's sister, a colleague of Lavinia, whom debauchery-fighting priest Blackburn tried to save. Phryne has Spanish dance instructor Carlos Romaro and bed partner perfect her fan dance, so she can go undercover at a gentleman's club run by most uncooperative Madam Lyon, whose secret accounting of reputation-challenged clientele may be the key, or girls-trusted bouncer Maurie Burke's brother's violent death.—KGF Vissers
  • Sumptuous brothels and respectable mansions. When Jack's ex father-in-law, Deputy Commissioner George Sanderson, is implicated in the brutal murder of a prostitute, Jack is determined to clear his name. Despite strict instructions from Jack not to meddle in his case - which also reintroduces Jack's ex-wife, Rosie - Phryne decides to perfect her 'fan dance' in order to go undercover at the gentleman's club of the notorious Madam Lyon.—Every Cloud Productions
