Perfect football game in my opinion
alexmiller-740355 May 2019
I'm my option this game was just what I wanted for an average football game with the ability to play matches of your choice the to even create your on characters. Although the graphics are no where near as good as the newest fifa games (fifa 16 and on) but it's good enough to have a nice feel of a real match.

The gameplay is really easy to handle for the controls and when you get use to playing the game after a few days the control buttons will feel very comfortable in the game

Great Game
robert-bowling0121 October 2013
This is the best FIFA game to date. It seems to be the complete package. It is great from Ultimate Team to Career to playing online. There really are no downfalls to the game.

Everything seems to be even in the sense that there is nothing that is TOO overpowered like in the old FIFA games with speed abuse. This game deserves to be the most sold sports title of the year due to how realistic it has become.

If you are into sports games, I would completely recommend this game to you even if you do not like soccer. It will make a non-soccer fan turn into a soccer fan in my eyes.

Experience the emotion of scoring great goals in FIFA 14. The game plays the way great soccer matches are contested, with innovations to the award-winning gameplay that inspire fans to build play through midfield, dictating the tempo of a match. Feel the tension as chances are created, and experience the thrill of hitting the back of the net. A new feature called Pure Shot and a brand-new ball physics system will transform shooting, making every shot attempt feel real, and when players connect with the perfect strike, feel exhilarating. FIFA 14 delivers engaging online features and live services that connect fans to the heartbeat of the sport - and to each other - through EA SPORTS Football Club. FIFA 14 is soccer's social network, where fans connect, compete and share with millions of others around the world.

Pure Shot Shooting has been transformed. Players have the intelligence to adjust their stride and approach angle to find the best position for hitting the back of the net. Well-hit balls feel satisfying and goals are rewarding. As well as quality strikes, players can now shoot while off balance or rushed.

Real Ball Physics Strike the ball with more force and finesse. Realistic ball physics now determines the trajectories of balls in game, enabling players to strike the ball with force from distance, drill low rising shots with accuracy, and blast dipping or swerving shots, just like real soccer players.

Protect The Ball Dominate midfield and dictate the tempo of a match. Fend-off and block defenders from the ball while dribbling at any speed. Protect the ball from opponents to control play through midfield and dictate the pace of the match. Plus, out-muscle opponents for position before receiving the ball, then turn defenders to carve out opportunities

Teammate Intelligence Better decision-making delivers tighter, smarter marking and improved run tracking. Defenders recognize opportunities to provide support and win back possession. Attacking players have new ways to outsmart their opponents and break down tighter, more intelligent defences by creating space for themselves, running along the backline and checking their pace.

Sprint Dribble Turns Utilize quick, explosive cuts and turns to beat defenders one-on-one while sprinting with the ball. Players can move in any direction, preserving their natural momentum and maintaining possession of the ball.

Variable Dribble Touches The First Touch Control of dribbling varies a player's touch when dribbling with pace. Skilled players have the touch and control to stand out while less skilled players will experience fewer perfect touches and more uncertainty dribbling, creating opportunities for defenders to win back possession, and placing emphasis on building play through midfield.

2nd Chance Tackles The tackling zone has been extended to enable defenders to combine different types of tackles, recover from missed tackles quickly, and have a second chance to compete for the ball in any tackling situation.

Career Mode Search for talent year-round with the new Global Scouting Network that brings the world of professional scouting to life. Develop and refine your own scouting network. Evaluate soccer players to uncover the attributes of players who could bolster your squad during the transfer windows. A new hub delivers easy navigation, fewer interruptions and live scouting reports.

Enjoy

unpredictable (but not in a good way)

Warning: Spoilers
fifa 14 is a title about pure violence, addiction, fantasy and a lack of nudity which amounts to a disaster.

you try to skip the first scene of your team walking out onto the field, but alas, you are forced to watch and let the tension mount as the sweat builds up in your armpits. this is it, your team of in form superstars against what looks like an average team.

after the game begins you find your super men falling into each other and they've suffered some sort of mental retardation. all of their physical ability seems to have vanquished as if they've been exposed to some sort of kryptonite. you are at a loss. the other team show no remorse as they hunt you down like a pack of rabid dogs and launch the ball forward time and time again.

an ill timed tackle leaves your player wreathing in pain on the floor. the commentators question geoff shroeves who's adamant that the player will fight through the pain of his broken leg.

you give up hope of a happy ending, retreating for a stalemate. this is it, the 90th minute and it looks to be all but over ... a cross from walcott looks to be going nowhere until benteke manages to get his head to the ball, beating two players, and manages to trick the goalkeeper and the near post by heading the ball in at an impossible angle.

a sensational finish surely worthy of such a title, leaving you utterly heartbroken and in tears. the drama leaves you drenched in sweat as you collapse in your seat, yet you feel as if the outcome was unjustified and a rare move in which the villain is victorious. this is not what you paid to see.

you've gained enough coins for a 7500 pack. beethoven's 5th starts playing in the background. two rare contracts, a rare home kit and some discards.

A HUGE disappointment
puppetmazter11 July 2014
Nothing new was really added to this one, which was kind of depressing. The graphics are just bad. It's 2013 EA, get it together already. This game is so bug-filled that I could take a bath in them. FUT would be great, except it's really buggy, and the fitness/contract aspects of it are a joke. It's basically just a way to get you to spend real money on it. The goalies are just plain awful. I have one of the best in the game, and he misses nearly every shot, and will literally jump out of the way of the ball at times. The only thing that Fifa 14 really has going for it is the physics engine, which does make it pretty realistic. The commentary was also pretty great, and made it feel like there were real people watching and commenting on your every move. Overall this game is just boring and depressing, and I really hope they fix all its problems for Fifa 15, but at the rate things are going, I highly doubt it.

Worst FIFA yet!
This game is truly awful. Every year I buy FIFA and every year I think it's great, to begin with. All FIFA games grow tiresome at some point but FIFA 14 wore my patience thin exceptionally quick. The makers of this game clearly have absolutely no concept of what football is.

It constantly gives you stupid stuff to deal with. It is near enough impossible to execute a chip through ball perfectly because FIFA thinks that no professional football would have the ability to put some back spin on their pass, therefore the ball goes over your attacker, then just keeps rolling and rolling until it gets through to the oppositions goalkeeper.

This is just one of many horrendous things about this game, the scripting, which has been an issue for a number of years, is more prevalent in this one than in any of the others. It has literally got to the point where I'm getting annoyed off at myself scoring in the 45th and 90 th minute. The stoppage time lasts forever and it just becomes so damn easy to score at the end of either half.

Here's another frustrating factor, the ratings they give are absolute rubbish. Basically, if the player has a good overall, he will be good, you may as well ignore all of his individual attributes. I had a player on my career mode for Bury who had a sprint speed of 96 and an acceleration of 95. However, because his overall was only 59, FIFA had very cleverly decided that he had to be terrible at EVERYTHING. His acceleration, although rated 95, was abysmal, it took him about 10 seconds to get anywhere near full speed. But a player with a higher overall but lower acceleration, eg. Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney etc. would not have this issue.

The commentary is the most pathetically written and irritating thing I've ever listened to. Nobody wants to hear the same story every game. Also, you could have advanced to the year 2020 on your manager mode and they will still be talking about David Moyes' recent appointment as Man United manager. Or even worse, you could be Man United manager and they would still be talking about David Moyes as the new manager.

There are just so many things wrong with this game, I've only just began to scratch the surface. I just pray that when FIFA 15 comes out, I won't get sucked in and waste my money on what will, no doubt, be another pile of rubbish.
