I enjoyed this journey around the Lac Léman: beatiful landscapes and nice encounters.
There are some interesting aspects about this lake: the navigation on the lake (the lake brigade of the police of Geneva, the rescue team of Lutry, the collaboration between two countries for the rescues, Steve Ravussin-the skipper- and the sailboats on the lake), the fishermen of the lake (about 150 professional fisherman, the main fishes-the perch, the arctic char, the trout and whitefish-, the famous "filet de perche"), Evian and the mineral water (the "Buvette Cachat", the water coming from the PLateau de Gavot, the bottling plaant -6 millions of liters of mineral water bottled each day, the "Jrdins de l'eau du Pré Curieux"), Montreux (theSwiss Riviera, the Alcazar Palace, the neo baroque style, Da Regne and his Rolls Royce, Yvan Hausmann speaking the the generation of hoteliers, the jazz festival, Estlle Mayer and her new hotel, the Harry's bar) and the Institut Glion, the high school of hospitality management the 3 years studies, the restaurant and the kitchen, students from 85 countries).
I enjoyed the encounters of Sophie with Yves de Siebenthal (the visit of the "Savoie" steamboat built in 1914) , with Alain Guichardot, the plastic artist of Yvoire, with Joël Baillif (the flowered village), with Laurent Carraud (the fishing of whitefishes), with Christophe d'Herve-the chef preparing the Arctic char, the restaurant du Port-a family business) , with Florine Hernandez (the golf course, the Evian Master for female golfer,), with Yves Marclay (the Swiss Vapeur arc with its miniature trains), with Norbert Muller (the story of the Montreux Jazz festival, Freddy Mercury and the recording studio), with Sabine Carruzzo in Vevey the fork in the lake, the "Fêtes des Vignerons" every 25 years( and with Eric and Vincent, the wine makers (the vineyard in the hillside, the visit of the cellar and the tasting of white wine), nice encounters with very kind Swiss and French men and women.
