Paige's story about how she got the powers for her drawings to come to life is repeated 4 times, all differently; the first time she says she got the powers after wishing, the second time she says that she has a supernatural pencil, the third time a narrator says she has a supernatural ability, and the fourth time the narrator says she woke up with the ability after suffering an injury.
In the beginning, Paige has one wish. She uses it for her drawings to come to life, but she also wishes for her legs to be fixed.
