- After the Ponytones' bass singer loses his voice, Fluttershy is determined to have the show go on.
- As Fluttershy takes care of the animals around her cottage, she sings a little song, but goes from happy to scared when she realizes her friends were nearby, and heard her.
Rarity is quite enamored with her singing, and requests that Fluttershy sing with the Ponytones, a quartet that is performing at an animal charity Fluttershy set up. However, Fluttershy claims she isn't ready for such a thing.
The rehearsal for the event goes over well for the Ponytones, but right before the performance, Big Mac loses his voice after taking part in a Turkey Calling Contest.
Fluttershy and Rarity take him to Zecora, who says that she can cure his malady, but the result will take several days. However, she proposes an alternative: remembering how Fluttershy's voice deepened (from the Season 1 Episode, "Bridle Gossip") after being exposed to a plant called Poison Joke, she proposes they use some on her. Fluttershy agrees to it to allow the charity benefit to go on, but still refuses to perform in public.
Instead, she sings behind-the-scenes, with Big Mac miming along to her singing. The event goes over well, and the group is then requested to perform at a young pegasus' Cutecinera the next day. Rarity claims that they can't, but Fluttershy is willing to go along with the request.
This then leads to the group being requested to perform at many other functions, with Fluttershy championing the group each time. Soon, Big Mac's voice is back, but Fluttershy is sad that it seems she won't be able to make their next performance. However, Big Mac is nice enough to have her ghost-voice his role in that performance.
During the performance, Fluttershy gets too into her singing role, and knocks down the stage curtain, exposing her, and causing her to rush away. The others find her in her cottage, having bathed in the Poison Joke antidote, and gotten her voice back.
The others attempt to try and tell her she was great, but she is still upset that she was seen by so many ponies. It is then that Rarity tells her that there is a silver lining to what happened: Fluttershy has been afraid of what others will think of her singing, yet she kept pushing the Ponytones to keep doing all the performances, and she even for a few moments, sang in front of others, and they loved it!
In the end, Fluttershy sings with the Ponytones in a private concert for her close pony and animal friends. Though it seems she is over her stage fright, she claims this is hopefully a "baby steps" way to building up her confidence.
