  • Some suggestively rude comments. They are all played for laughs.

Violence & Gore

  • In Volume 5, Chapter 11, a character was shot in the back, later was impaled on screen, but eventually healed in a later chapter. In a later chapter, the same character stabbed a villain in the back, dragging the villain into the room.
  • In Volume 5 Chapter 12, a character was killed on screen, the killer had a Grimm arm and impaled the character, although no blood can be seen.
  • Yang punches a guy in the face and he hits many walls around the room. This is played for laughs.
  • In the Adam character short, many battles are seen throughout. During the middle, an unarmed character is shot and his aura is depleted. Another character attacks many people with a sword and sheathe. The same character uses his semblance and cuts someone in half, bloody aftermath is seen. The same character continuously expresses a desire to stab people with his weapon but is stopped every time.
  • In Volume 6 Chapter 1, a man is grabbed off a train by a grimm and killed offscreen.
  • In Volume 6 Chapter 1, a man hits his arm against the mouth of a tunnel and has it broken. The wound is seen but it looks like a severe bruise rather than a broken bone.
  • In Volume 6 Chapter 2, a villain kills a someone off-screen and takes their clothes.
  • In Volume 6 Chapter 4, a character punches another character.
  • In Volume 6 Chapter 4, a character cuts themselves against another character's blade on purpose.
  • In Volume 6 Chapter 4, a woman throws a table which knocks another character over, they are shown to be unharmed. Meanwhile, grimm hands strain one character and forces them to their hands and knees.
  • In Volume 6 Chapter 5, people are found dead in their beds. It's implied others in the same area are in a similar state.
  • The fights leave one or more characters nearly or completely incapacitated.
  • while grime is sliced in have the inside is red but there is no blood shed of organs flyingout
  • Frequent fantasy violence throughout. Charaters fight dark creatures called grimm who are often dismembered and decapitated but fizzle to ash after death. Fights against humans are non-bloody in early volumes but blood is featured more prominently in later volumes. Volumes 1-3 feature blood stylised as rose petals, but Volume 4 onwards reverts to normal blood to adapt to the shows tonal shift.
  • In Volume 7 Chapter 11, a major character has the skin on their arm completely burned off by an antagonist
  • In Volume 7 Chapter 12, A character is stabbed through the chest with a giant broadsword and bleeds to death. This is one of the bloodiest deaths so far in the series.
  • In Volume 8 Chapter 1 General Ironwood shoots a man dead. The man getting shot happens offscreen but you see General Ironwood pull the trigger. Shocking but not bloody since the aftermath isn't shown.
  • Each of the four main trailers for this series (Red, White, Black, Yellow) consist of a fight with one character vs. one or many
  • There are some action scenes throughout, but there isn't any graphic violence what so ever. Blood is also often represented by rose petals.
  • In Volume 1 Chapter 1, Ruby takes out some bad guys robbing a store.
  • In Volume 1 Chapter 10, A character fights a pig-like Grimm creature. Struggling to fight it until they gets the opening to stab it (it is dead, no blood).
  • In Volume 1 Chapter 14, A character is beaten up by a group of bullies (bruises visible) until a bear-like Grimm creature comes. The fight ends with the bullied character decapitating it. (no blood spray, but a red stump is visible)
  • In Volume 1 Chapter 16, Characters stop a robbery on the docks, this involves a ton of gun play and sword play. Countless henchman are at least knocked out.
  • Volume 3 takes place during a fighting tournament, there are 8 matches total and these are just for competition, a fighter is removed from the battle if they are thrown out of the ring or are not physically safe to continue fighting. Besides the last two matches, these fights are light in tone and have humor in them.
  • In Volume 3 Chapter 6, the episode ends with a character appearing to assault and possibly sever another character's leg, though we find out in Chapter 7 that this was a ploy and he's completely fine. In this same episode it is revealed that a brand new character is on the verge of death from an attempted murder, the injuries of their attack are visible on her face.
  • In Volume 3 Chapter 7, a human death is implied and this character's son stands near his body, implying to be the killer, and blood is shown on his bandages and mouth. Also in this episode, a character is shot in the back with an arrow and the same character has an insect like Grimm latch a web onto her face, this drains her powers, looks very painful and brings her close to death.
  • In Volume 3 Chapter 8, a character is thrown into a wall and leaves a sizable dent, he walks off from it soon after.
  • In Volume 3 Chapter 10, Grimm invade the city as well a previously seen villains with the intent to create as much destruction as possible. An important character is in a ship as it crashes and his fate is left unknown until a later chapter. Grimm continue to attack and come close to overrunning some of the fighters, two teachers stay to fight and their fates are left unknown.
  • In Volume 3 Chapter 11, a character is left to fight two villains, one is thrown off the ship; fate left unknown, the other proceeds to fight her with out her weapon, difficult to watch, especially when the character is beaten by the villain's weaponized cane, but he is cut off from the assault as he is eaten by a griffin-like Grimm and presumably deceased. A woman is shot in the chest with an arrow and dies from it shortly after (no blood). Another character is seen fighting an old 'friend', who upon seeing her threatens the life of an innocent person. She stops him but he then proceeds to effortlessly beat on her, slapping her and even stabbing her in the abdomen though no blood or wound is visibly shown, it is however very painful for her; when another character, arrives to help, he cleanly cuts off her arm, we see the arm detach from her body in a stylized silhouette and we latter see her falling with yellow blood coming out of the stump. The bolded material is shocking, dramatic, and very violent compared to the rest of the show.
  • In Volume 3 Chapter 12, We see a man and woman fight using magic. We see the girl who's arm was removed in Chapter 11 have her wound bandaged, the bandages are stained with blood. A character is shot in the chest with an arrow and burned to dust, this is tragic, disturbing, and shocking
  • Volume 4 has intense action violence throughout, with some moments with blood. We see villages that are completely destroyed by bandits and Grimm, with dead bodies being seen.

  • In Volume 1: Chapter 8 a background song uses Hell and F'ing (said exactly "effing" but not the actual swear word)
  • The word "Oh my god." can be heard on a few occasions.
  • Uses of Crap in some scenes.
  • In Volume 3, there is infrequent use of "damn".
  • Volume 4: Language is still rare, with at least two or three uses of "damn", and one surprising use of "bitch", which is so far the strongest instance of language in the whole series.

  • Volume 2 is a little bit darker then Volume 1.
  • Volume 3 is a lot darker than both volumes 1 and 2.
