Bread & Iron..the struggle of Syrian workers by:Dareen Hasan (2013) length: 39:59 Bread and Iron tells the story of Syrian laborers in Lebanon.depicting their daily in an environment that frowns upon them with suspicion and hostility.unable to return to their homes due to the raging war,many find themselves stuck on Lebanese construction sited,building Beirut's skyline under the whim of exploitative employers. in a series of conversations ,young and old laborers talk about estrangement,hardship,and dreams for the future.Their testimonies point at a stark reality that goes largely ignored,especially now that their home country is on fire. the film start with one Syrian worker who refused to show his voice .he talked about his situation and his dream to have a house and how it is impossible to even think about it.another young Syrian worker working on cutting the iron all the day he lost his teeth .he spent 90 % in Lebanon ..the film continue with the first worker talking about his journey to coming from Syria to Lebanon and how he worker for 5 month and get paid for 2 and then kicked out . building after building constructions site sounds show the need of money in order to buy a bread .—Anonymous
