The screenplay for this film was written by three students at Piedmont High School in California. It was a final project for their creative writing class.
Andy Berger and Chris R. Nelson created several films, video games and student projects using their production company, Thrillhouse Productions.
Many of the characters were based on real people known to the writers; most notably Twinkletoes McGee, based on actor Sam Mende-Wong, who was a respected break dancer in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Fake guns were used during production. It was later discovered in the local paper that someone had called the police because she saw "a group of men standing around... one was holding a shotgun."
