Sex & Nudity
-
- Creatures in small loincloths, naked beast like creatures, but that's as far as it goes, there is nothing sexual.
- Nothing is actually shown, it's just monsters that somewhat resemble humans that don't wear clothes.
Violence & Gore
-
- Violence and gore is comparable to old Mortal Kombat. There's some pretty brutal executions, but it's all pixelated and performed on evil monsters, 90% of which don't vaguely resemble humans. Gore in the background is slightly worse than Death's Gambit;piles of bodies, monsters gnawing on corpses, etc. I think that anyone 13+ should handle it fine. Also, the executions, which is where almost all of the gore comes from, can be completely avoided, which takes at least 60% of the gore out of the game.
- The gore is there, but I wouldn't let it be why you don't let your kid have it. It's all completely pixelated, and usually it's just something like a punch to the face proceeded by a spatter of blood. Also, all of the gore is highly unrealistic and performed on very unrealistic fantasy creatures like thin, winged monsters. I think it's a good game to start introducing your kid to more intense stuff.
Profanity
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
-
- Eryk injects himself with a health injection to heal.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
-
- Hideous monsters are killed in brutal ways, the game focuses on a place being cursed by a plague that turns people into savage creatures. The main character is racing to find a cure before he himself succumbs to the illness.
Spoilers
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- A doctor injects himself with what he believes to be the cure for the illness turning people to monsters. It doesn't work however, and he disappears in a cloud of red smoke and the screen goes black. When the screen comes back, he has transformed into a grotesque creature and a boss fight ensues.
