Reese Witherspoon and Sofía Vergara in Hot Pursuit (2015)

Goofs

Hot Pursuit

Edit

Continuity

When Cooper is in the car on the way to the house, the arm patch on her left sleeve is clearly visible. When she gets out of the car it disappears, then reappears when she's back in the house.
When Cooper handcuffs herself to Daniella outside the clothing store and she says the line, "I have got to contact my precinct... please" the cuffs disappear then reappear on their wrists.
In between scenes, the bulldog clips disappear from the back of her dress.

Factual errors

Most of the police codes said are completely random. For example, when Cooper tells Daniella to call 911, she tells her to report two 10-60s and a 10-12. In real police code, a 10-60 means a lock-out and a 10-12 means visitors present. What Cooper should have said was a 10-71 (shooting), two 10-53 (man down), and a 217 (assault with intent to murder).
When the girls are driving the Cadillac after the biker bar incident, the police radio says they are in a red 1968 Cadillac Convertible. It's a 1966.
When the car breaks down, Cooper overhears Daniella's cellphone vibrate when receiving a call and then it dings when receiving a text. A phone on vibrate wouldn't make a sound when receiving a text.
The Hispanic character's name is spelled as "Daniella", yet the correct Spanish spelling of it is "Daniela". The double L's in Spanish use the "Y" consonant pronunciation.

Revealing mistakes

The cuff shackling Daniella to Cooper during the bus chase is obviously so big that she could have freed herself from it at any time. After the chase has ended, Sofía Vergara accidentally pulls her hand halfway out of it (a second before Cooper says "Move! Move!"), then hurriedly slides it back on her wrist.
In the movie, Officer Cooper and Daniella Riva head from somewhere around San Antonio to Dallas. Along the way, they stop at a casino. The only casino in Texas is in Eagle Pass, which is a town settled in right next to the border with Mexico. This means they either went too far south, too far east into Louisiana, or too far north into Oklahoma. Regardless, they were never headed to the correct location.
When Daniella loses the iPhone during the beginning car chase, it is a fake/demo phone. When it gets run over, the screen detaches from the body, but the home screen is still on. It would have gone black once damaged.
The credits list "Detective Jones." He was actually a Deputy United States Marshal..

Miscellaneous

After the ladies steal the blue Chevy pickup, they are driving straight down the road, but Rose is holding the steering wheel so the spoke of the wheel is in the vertical position, usually indicative of a sharp turn. The steering wheel should have been in the horizontal position when driving straight.
About 3 minutes in, captain Cooper is drinking coffee. First with left hand, then right hand, then left hand, all in less than 5 seconds.

Anachronisms

In the opening montage, a young Cooper uses a Nerf Hammershot to take out multiple stuffed animals despite it being released in August of 2013.

Character error

You do not need to unlock a phone to dial 911, as such Cooper should know this as a know-it-all officer in the car scene where Daniella loses the phone while trying to key in the combination.
