- Yolanda, a Spanish woman living in Mexico, wants to hide her dark past; of Raúl, his son, who seeks the true identity of his father, whom is believed dead 24 years ago, and Lucia, a young high class woman, who comes to live in the neighborhood, weary of the abuse exercised on her Octavio , the lover of his mother.—Ulf Kjell Gür
- It tells the stories of Yolanda, a Spanish woman residing in Mexico who hides the dark past of Raúl, her son, who seeks to know the true identity of his father, whom she thought had died twenty-four years ago; and that of Lucía, a young upper-class woman who comes to live in the neighborhood, fed up with the harassment of Octavio, her mother's lover, and her indifference. Added to this are the stories of other characters that form a framework around the Hotel Galicia, nestled in the heart of Tepito. This mosaic of fictions that run in parallel and are sometimes intertwined reveals a large part of the social prejudices that classism and racism shows, which is evidenced as part of a historical reality that is difficult to ignore. -Rodolfo Salinas-Villarreal.—Rodolfo Salinas-Villarreal
