Goofs

Everybody Wants Some!!

Edit

Continuity

The shirts that the guys wear say "STU," presumably for South Texas University. But in their "players only" practice, the scoreboard says "East Texas University."
When Jake goes to class after his night with Beverly, a man with white hair approaches the door, then is shown approaching the same door again.
Walking along the swimming hole, Beverly's bra strap is seen to be light blue. When she is sitting in the tube, she is wearing a black bra.
Back at her apartment with Jake, Beverly dons a slip that hangs beneath her dress. The next frame there is no slip showing. Next frame, at school, the slip is there.
When Willoughby packs and smokes a bong in Jake's room, one of the books on the floor next to him changes position from shot to shot.

Factual errors

The "Cat in Refrigerator" credit in the end credits is misspelled "Cat in Refridgerator."
When Willoughby discusses his The Twilight Zone (1959) tape collection with Jake, he says that Eye of the Beholder (1960) is the fifth episode of the series' second season, if he's not mistaken. However, he is mistaken as it is the sixth episode of the second season.

Revealing mistakes

At Justin's house, a close-up is shown of a phonograph playing track 2 or 3 of an LP with a dark blue label. The song supposedly being played is "Alternative Ulster" by Stiff Little Fingers, but that album had a reddish-orange label and that song was Track 4 of Side 2. The LP in the close-up was obviously just a prop platter.

Miscellaneous

The story begins on Thursday, August 28, 1980 and follows the characters through the weekend leading up to the first day of classes on Monday. However, Monday, September 1, 1980 was Labor Day and most schools would have been closed on that holiday. Since S.T.U. is a fictional school, it could be said to be an exception, but none of the characters even mention the holiday so it seems like an oversight goof.

Anachronisms

"Urgent" by Foreigner was not released as a single until July 1981.
Jake shows up at the house on August 28, 1980. Shortly thereafter you see Willoughby is reading and hands over Carl Sagan's Cosmos to Jake. Cosmos wasn't published by Random House until September 12, 1980.
Several of the video games shown in a bar scene date from the mid to late- 1980s.
When Jake goes to Beverly's dorm room she drinks a can of Dr. Pepper. The can is a modern can with a stay-tab and indented drinking lip rather than the straight-walled, pull-tab can that existed in 1980.
During the "Canadian" card game, Finn uses the term "hoser" making a reference to Bob & Doug McKenzie's Great White North skits on SCTV. The first Great White North was aired on September 19, 1980, a few weeks after the movie takes place.

Crew or equipment visible

There are several times during baseball practice where it's easy to spot the actual pitcher who is throwing the balls Jake is supposed to be pitching.
In the beginning of the movie with Jake driving to college, one wide shot of the car shows the reflection of the camera crane on the vehicle.
