- Modern art meets the Harlem renaissance at 291 Fifth Avenue where Georgia O'Keeffe, who is looking for Mr. Stieglitz, encounters the unexpected. Set in 1916 in New York City, O'Keeffe meets Hodge Kirnon, originally from the West Indies and now weary from many years of navigating the 'American Dream.' Georgia finds much in common with this stranger as he shares his frustration with intolerance and as she deals with her own insecurities about being an artist and a woman in a man's world.
The short film "Looking For Mr. Stieglitz" starring Rachel de la Torre as Georgia O'Keeffe and Tone Forrest as Hodge Kirnon is part of a larger project called "291", which follows the lives of three people: Georgia O'Keeffe, Alfred Stieglitz and Hodge Kirnon over a period one year. A year that proves to challenge their fears, bring about profound change and set them each on a path leading to their moment in time.
