Not Believable

Warning: Spoilers
Having an Open Water Diving License, and graduated from the U.S. Military's Dive School, the first thing that is inaccurate is how long each Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus (S.C.U.B.A.) tank lasted.

Divers that dived a lot like supposedly Kasey has do not hold the regulator with their hand. Holding your regulator with your hand is somethings a signal that there is something wrong with your regulator, instead of waving, pointing to your regulator and giving the go up (surface) signal. On regulators there is also a purge button to clear your regulator, that can be "accidentally" depressed if you continually hold the regulator with your hand(s). Normally before you even get into the water, you push the purge button to blow water out of the regulator mouthpiece, then insert the mouthpiece and go underwater.

Having been trained as a U.S. Military Biological Warfare Officer, we would have used a Closed Circuit Rebreathers not S.C.U.B.A. or Air Packs (S.C.B.A.), a Rebreather lasts much longer than S.C.U.B.A. or S.C.B.A. and is much lighter in weight. Weight matters as physically exhausting, like when Firefighters weight a complete Air Pack (S.C.B.A.).

High amounts of bacteria in the air would subject any exposed skin to the same levels as the air, except thru the eyes and skin and would also deplete these and body of oxygen.

Our skin is the largest organ of the human body, in Movies like Goldfinger, when a woman is painted completely with gold paint she dies from oxygen deprivation, this used to happen before with Stage Actors, in order to survive Kasey would have had to have been breathing almost 100% oxygen to compensate and risk oxygen toxicity (poisoning, hyperoxia). Oxygen would also increase the rates of bacteriological growth and contamination if these same bacteria were absorbing that amount of oxygen out of the air in the movie.

A Medical Resuscitator mask with squeeze bulb like shown in this movie does not contain oxygen, that teen that hijacked Kasey's Electric Mini Cooper would not have survived long enough to have hijacked Kasey's Electric Mini Cooper. Medical Resuscitators that do use oxygen must be connected to the Medical Facility's oxygen supply or to an oxygen cylinder ("tank").

Which is worse: The premise or the acting?
brittandbaby9 November 2018
Kasey is a scuba diver who comes up from scuba diving only to find that there is no more air. She is a mother desperately searching to see if her child has survived, therefore, she spends the remainder of the movie walking around in full wet suit while breathing through an oxygen tank. There are supporting characters along the way among the dead, such as a man using a hospital respirator and, my personal favorite, Anna. Anna is an elderly woman who is hooked up to a life support system and proceeds to explain to Kasey that she is waiting on a respirator because she cannot exhale and can only speak five syllables at a time. Bear in mind, the preceding explanation goes way the hell beyond five syllables, and the conversation they have afterwards does as well. I would not call these plot holes, I would call these 8 lane highways blown through mountainsides. You would be able to fly the Hindenburg through the holes in this plot. Furthermore, if there was no air, how exactly are they producing speech? Saying that there is no air would technically be saying there is no medium for sound waves to travel. This movie would have benefited from their being no speech because of the acting ability of the entire cast. The characters seem to be bored out of their skull, or perhaps maybe half asleep. Kasey herself usually carries a facial expression of boredom, complete with actual eye-rolls while she's talking.

Pointless

Warning: Spoilers
All you have to do is look at the tagline: "A SCUBA diver surfaces to a world with no breathable air, and must fight to get back to her family, and her son, before her tanks run out. "

Why? What would be the point? If she surfaced to a "world with no breathable air"? Then what would she be going home to? With no breathable air, anyone she knew or cared about would already be dead and she would be dead as well, her body just hadn't gotten the word yet! The movie tries to create suspense where there simply is none, without breathable air life cannot exist so no matter what she does, it ends the same. As the saying goes: "you can run, but you will just die tired". Movies such as this one simply waste natural resources!

Coming up for air
ntd5008 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This is a pretty interesting concept for a movie and it kept me watching. What happens to society if the atmosphere becomes depleted of breathable oxygen? The main character is really stupid and naive, but it may be a legitimate character decision. For example, she goes diving by herself which is impetus for the loner plot. However, who goes diving by themselves? Also, diving tanks don't last very much longer than an hour. The reason for my low rating is that the acting is bad and the movie contains unbelievable elements.

Waste of Time - No Story, No Plot, No Resolution
chicagorob116 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I'm surprised this is available online anywhere. While a widow is scuba diving alone the world's oxygen suddenly disappears. When she surfaces, she continues to use her air tank for DAYS, driving her convenient electric car and slowly walking around randomly. There's a bunch of useless flashbacks and weird dream conversations with the dead. But through it all the widow is completely nonplussed. Dead people everywhere? She's just going to keep slowly walking home to her infant girl and parents.

To sum it up - the movie made no sense, the ending was a complete letdown, the acting was wooden (even for a high school production) and the characters were all boring and monotone. There could have been so much more, but it was so slow and useless, they most likely just ran out of film.

God awful acting
jhr201227 July 2021
It's really, really bad. And the plot holes are huge.

To top it off, I have no idea what the point of the movie was, nor how it ended.

It's truly awful. It looks like a bunch of high school kids made the movie.

Worst acting in history
teebear8171 May 2021
The absolute worst, i mean the WORST acting in movie history. Its worse that any high school play youve ever seen. Its horrific. I think some guy hired his neighbors to "act" in this crap. This movie is a sin. The woman is the worst actress ive ever seen and they guy who stole her car is the worst actor of all time. 10 year olds would be better. Im serious, they are all HORRIBLE actors. This movie had a $70,000 budget!!!!! I do not exaggerate. Horrid acting. Dont watch this crud.

Cute
jinhand26 November 2018
When you see an apocalypse themed movie you're supposed to suspend belief. Therefore ranting about scuba tech is a bit absurd. For $70,000 the movie was cute and it also did what all good apocalypse movies should do.
