During the last few years, Venezuelan television was so decaying that it needed innovation, especially in the comedy area. This doesn't air on TV, of course, but it very well could compete with crappy, basic shows like "A Que Te Ríes" and "Que Locura", which have a lot more budget than this one.
"Ni Tan Tarde" was, in my opinion, the last comedy program that was actually worth. Chataing TV and Erika Tipo 11 came out recently to, finally, bring something new to the table, but before those two, Alejandro Hernández released his show, which brought a breath of fresh air.
The first episodes were regular in terms of quality and content. However, it progressed into something with great humor and almost cinematic quality. At that point, Alejandro Hernández already became part of Venezuelan pop culture.
There are some really great episodes ("Tamos Ready") and other terrible ones (Paranormal Activity parody) but in general, the show has great humor and spot-on local jokes which perfectly reflect Venezuelan reality.
The country desperately needs more fresh ideas and quality content like this one, and Hernández is definitely a talent to watch.
